Excellent High Tea. - We had a lovely High Tea, the food, staff and surroundings were just perfect. Worth the expense for the experience. We have had many High Teas and would say it is the top so far.

An amazing experience that we can highly recommend! - Before returning to Germany, we finished with an afternoon tea at Mount Nelson. On the beautiful terrace we enjoyed all the little delicacies that Wiseman beautifully served us and presented us with information and the history of the hotel. We had a wonderful last afternoon in Cape Town, thanks in no small part to the excellent service, which we will remember for a long time.

Afternoon Tea at Mount Nelson hotel - one of the worlds best - On the 11/12 my sister and I treated our mother to High tea at the Mount Nelson for her birthday and what a treat it was. A truly remarkable afternoon High tea at the Mount Nelson. I have done numerous High teas across South Africa and in the United Kingdom and this one ranks very high up there as one of the best. We had the tea on the Terrace overlooking the beautiful garden. What made our experience extra special was our server Thuli. It was like she was reading our minds as to what teas we would like. Like a fairy godmother she arrived at our table with 3 different teas and these were absolutely perfect for the 3 of us. The orange blossom was my favorite and just wished i had asked where I can buy it from. Nothing was too much effort for Thuli with our requests. Thuli explained the different courses like she had made them herself. Thuli made us feel special and relaxed. I would highly recommend Afternoon High Tea as a special treat whether it be celebrating something or even just treating yourself. Thank you Thuli and Mount Nelson for making my mothers birthday one that she will remember for a lifetime.

Amazing!!! - Our server Lulu was absolutely amazing. She made our experience even better. Such a lovely person. Darryl the tea expert had such amazing knowledge and was willing to share it! The food and drinks were delicious and plentiful. If you are in Cape Town, you should definitely come. A very beautiful setting as well.

A refined midday escape, perfect for any celebration! - The mount nelson high tea always makes our list when there is something to celebrate. And it’s no surprise with such a delicious selection of sweet and savoury treats, the warm, welcoming, and knowledgeable staff (thanks for a great afternoon Thabisa), along with a relaxing, yet elegant, environment that feels like a calm oasis far removed from the business of the mother city.

Best High tea in Cape Town. - Amazing high tea experience! Our server, Cheslyn, did a fabulous job recommending different teas and ensuring our kids were taken care of as well. Will definitely be back!!

Disappointing - Very disappointed The venue is beautiful and elegant… parking inside the hotel is dreadful, The savoury sandwiches were very dry and it did not look like they were made at on spot… the scones were boring, nobody explained to us about the tease or the rest of the desserts. What are they? What are we eating? Service was very slow

Loud Louder Loudest High Tea ever! - Extremely Disappointing High Tea Experience – A Waste of Time and Money I rarely leave reviews, but this experience left me so frustrated and disappointed that I feel compelled to warn others. We booked what was supposed to be relaxing, elegant high tea — something we were genuinely looking forward to. Unfortunately, what we got was the complete opposite. The entire experience was hijacked by an over-the-top, loud, and completely out-of-place entertainment act that no one had the decency to inform us about beforehand. We could barely hold a conversation at our table, let alone enjoy the setting or the tea. The noise was intrusive, the atmosphere chaotic, and to make matters worse, the staff were clearly overwhelmed and completely inattentive. Service was beyond slow, we waited endlessly for tea refills, items were brought out cold or completely forgotten, and not once did anyone check in to apologise or explain the disruption. If this “entertainment” had been communicated in advance, we would never have booked. It felt more like we’d stumbled into a disorganised dinner theatre than a refined afternoon tea. Save your money and your sanity, there are plenty of other venues that understand what a high tea should actually be.
