Cape Town Safari Aquila Game Reserve - Sailed into Cape Town, South Africa a few days ago. We had a tour for a Safari a few hours away. Started a little shaky, Heavy fog (and I mean heavy fog) forced the ship to not be able to dock for more than an hour and a half. We had an independent tour set of 9AM, the ship was not cleared until 9AM, we were some of the very first off, the ship and first to clear customs. With the delay it was a zoo of independent tours mixed in with all the buses. It took a long half an hour to locate our private tour (very stressful). After that it was a cake walk. We had a private drive/guide (Samuel) to drive us the 2 hrs. plus to the Safari Reserve, where we had a very nice lunch (included in the tour). After lunch we boarded a 9 per person four-wheel drive Jeep (the cruise tours use open 20 person trucks) for a three-hour Safari where we saw a ton of animals (some pictures enclosed). In the 2hrs. plus drive there and back we went through the wine regions and a 2 ½ mile tunnel through a mountain. All and all very cool day after a shaky start.

Kuda was a fabulous driver and host! - Great trip to Aquila reserve with close up animal sitings. Kuda was the consummate host and very knowledgeable in answering all of our questions.. Did not enjoy the unexpected stop at the Diamond Museum store before we headed out of town to Aquilla.

A good driver make long distances pleasurable - The drive to and from the game reserve was excellent and pleasant due to our Driver, Remy! The time flew bye and he was quite the source of information about S. Africa, Cape Town and Aquila! My wife and I were both impressed with his knowledge of history and South African culture.

Big 4 at safari - Visiting this safari was an eye opener especially with Friends on a sunny day. The drive to safari was exceptional with baboons almost blocking the roads at the tunnel. We did saw 4 of the big 5 but couldn't see the leopard. This is an ideal place for a family outing as it has great accommodation facilities. Sleeping in the bundu with wild animals roaming about close to our lodge was a rare experience. The downside downside was the food which was mainly seafood and not the wild animal meat we were promised. But the summed up experience was good. Great location would not mind going back.

Great safari outing - A great tour with a great experience with amazing drive. The drive was long but we did not get to notice it as there is an outstanding landscape to prepare us for the safari. We saw the hippos and 4 of the big 5 which was more than what we expected. And the food was so much of great importance it made us feel we are treated African royalty. It was a buffet and the fish we had was out of this world. We did not only see the leopard but we were more than satisfied with the day outing. \this is also a great sleep to sleep over the guest houses and lodges are so neat and clean but well built to blend with the environment. Definitely come back with family an friends. Adios to Raw Tours. Thanks to the guide/driver Eric he was so cheerful.

Just not good enough! - We stayed for two days and honestly we were very disappointed with the quality of the rooms the food and the availability of the animals. The animals were basically fed a times and that’s when everyone was herded onto buses to see them. No sign of a Leopard and the lions were in a big caged area. Frankly it was a lot of money and we were underwhelmed!
