• Bo-kaap - Also previously known as the malay quoter, the bokaap is a heritage site under unesco protection. With its colorful houses and corbern streets, the area is inhabited by descendants of slaves who were brought to the mother city (Cape Town) by the Dutchs in the late 1600s. The area is predominantly occupied by muslims. It celebrates the long journey of Islam in southern hemisphere. Inside bo kaap you’ll find the Uwal mosk, the oldest mosk in South Africa, plus many more of its kind. All houses are colorful as a celebration of a true rain rainbow nation as per Nelson Mandela’s wish. Although there is more stories to tell about those colorful houses.
