The railway extends from a lower station at the Cape Point car park, ascending through lush fynbos to the upper lighthouse. Departing every three minutes from the lower station, each car comfortably holds 40 passengers, with the capacity to transport 450 individuals to the upper lighthouse per hour, making it the perfect choice for reaching the lighthouse swiftly, even during busy periods.
