Great value and convenient for all the main sites of Cape Town - The pick up points were clearly signed and well located for the main attractions. Staff friendly. Bus was clean and in good condition. Both red and blue routes are worth doing.

Great way to start the vacay - Really loved the audio guide for the bus and boat rides we took over two days. After doing these we came away with a big list of things we’d like to do in the weeks we have coming up in Cape Town. Also really appreciated the language options as I speak English and my partner speaks French. Was fun to share the historical details we’d learned after.

Super day’s easy sightseeing - This is such an easy way to see the sights in the Cape Town area! On a colder and somewhat rainy July day, this was a great option to keep busy but avoid the weather. We spent the morning doing the whole blue route, which takes around 2.5 hours if you don’t get off. We have visited some of the sights on this route on a previous holiday, so we were happy to stay on board, take in the views and listen to the very good commentary. We then did the red route in the afternoon, stopping to go up the cable car to a very cloudy Table Mountain! (Oh well… we only had the one day). On the way back to the V&A Waterfront, we got off at stop 10 and enjoyed a gentle meander to stop 11 along the seafront promenade (this could easily be extended by getting off at stop 9 and maybe by getting back on at stop 12). All three drivers we met were lovely, really friendly, cheerful and helpful. The commentary was clear and interesting, with about 15 or so language options including one for children, using the provided earplugs (which they collect at the bus exit). The only even vaguely negative point to note is that, unlike many other red bus hop on hop off tours in cities around the world, this one actually covers very little of Cape Town’s centre (apart, basically, from Long Street). However, you can pick up a free walking tour from the office/stop in Long Street which sounds like it does cover the historic centre (again, we did something very similar on our previous holiday so didn’t do this option ourselves). Excellent value for money especially given that you can do both routes in one day!

Great HOHO bus experience - Great scenic bus route and the commentary is very informative and funny. We just did the red route and the harbour cruise. It was a great way to get to the cable car at Table Mountain. It was convenient having the live tracking to see how long it would be until the next bus came. Very enjoyable and a great way to see the sights around Cape Town.

Reliable transportation to the sights we wanted to see - We did the 2 day ticket, riding the blue route one day and the red route the next. No complaints at all. Got to where we wanted to go, and return busses were timely. Interesting narration as well. Would definitely do it again next time in Cape Town

Big red bus - It was okay. I’ve experienced better big red bus tours. Commentary was fine. I was glad the bus took us to table Mountain but it was a wet day so we didn’t get to go on the cable car which was a bit disappointing
