• Cape Town Central - Guests will be collected from their accommodation between 08:30 and 09:30 AM by our certified tour guide/driver in a minibus for a full-day Cape Winelands tour. The tour includes visits to Stellenbosch, Paarl, and Franschhoek, exploring the wine route’s stunning features. Participants will enjoy wine tastings at up to six wine estates and receive a town orientation tour in Stellenbosch and Franschhoek.
• Stellenbosch - As the second oldest town in South Africa, Stellenbosch is renowned for its natural beauty, oak-lined streets, Cape Dutch architecture, history, culture, and wine routes. Visitors will experience unforgettable wine estates here.
• Delaire Graff Estate - Guests will have the opportunity to taste the exquisite Cabernet Franc Rosé, crafted from 100% Cabernet Franc, offering flavors of ripe strawberries, cassis, and candyfloss with a delightful spicy finish.
• Hazendal Wine Estate - Upon entering Hazendal Wine Estate, visitors are sure to fall in love with it. Here, they can taste award-winning, handcrafted boutique wines and Methode Cap Classique from the esteemed Stellenbosch wine region.
• Lanzerac Wine Estate - Just a short drive from Stellenbosch town center, Lanzerac is known as a luxurious country hotel nestled in the picturesque Jonkershoek Valley. Beyond being a hotel, Lanzerac features a historic homestead dating back to 1830, overseeing vineyards and a winery that produces excellent red and white wines. It is also recognized as the first winery to bottle the native South African wine, Pinotage. Chocolate and wine pairing is expertly conducted by a knowledgeable sommelier.
• Paarl - As the third oldest settlement in South Africa, Paarl is rich in history, culture, natural beauty, and a long-standing tradition of winemaking. In 1657, Abraham Gebemma discovered a giant granite rock, now known as Paarl Rock, the second largest granite outcrop in the world. The area also features the Taal Monument, celebrating the Afrikaans language. The Paarl Wine Route, the country’s second oldest, is famous for its robust spicy reds and crisp whites.
• Fairview Wine and Cheese - The tour continues to Fairview Vineyards and Goats Cheese for a cheese and wine tasting. Guests can purchase their favorite cheese and condiments from the deli, along with wine from three ranges in the tasting room. (Wine tasting fees are not included).
• Groot Drakenstein Prison - Along the route, there will be a stop at Drakenstein Prison to view the Nelson Mandela Monument. This prison is where Nelson Mandela spent his final days of incarceration before his release.
• Franschhoek - Franschhoek, meaning “French corner,” was given to the French Huguenots in the 1680s for vineyard cultivation. Surrounded by the Drakenstein mountains, Franschhoek offers a sense of being anywhere in the world. The vibrant streets of South Africa’s food capital are adorned with colonial whitewashed buildings. It’s a hub for shopping, Belgian chocolate tasting, and an ideal spot for lunch. Guests will have the chance to taste Chardonnay and various wines, including Methode Cap Classiques, the local equivalent of French champagne.
