Very inspiring - This was such an amazing experience. It was an afternoon trip and first off our driver/guide took us to the District Six museum. Our guide explained some of the exhibits and had great knowledge of the group areas act and how this impacted the people involved. He then gave us some time to look around on our own. We were then taken to Langa township. We were given lots of history on the way about the passing landmarks and history of Capetown. When we arrived at Langa we were passed to a second guide who took us around, introducing us to the people that live there and explaining the housing system and the ways the community come together to support each other. Everyone was very friendly and welcoming. I highly recommend this tour to everyone that visits Cape Town. It’s very easy to pass these townships from the highway and make a judgement. The tour give you real insight into the positivity that thrives in the area and the strength and resilience of the people living there.

History of apartheid and a visit around the township - Hamlet our driver was brilliant. He explained the history of apartheid. This was extended when we visited the museum in Cape Town. The trip around the township was very sobering and the people and children were amazing, Thank you Hamlet and the guide that day in the township. Well worth a visit.

Safe and heartfelt - This was my best experience here so far. You really have to go into the township to see the truth. It was definitely beyond words. I felt safe the whole time and I’m a solo female traveler. Very nice people.

Wonderful experience!! - It was wonderful experience. The guide knows well about the history of township and many friends there. So when I walk through Langa, I feel no fear. Spots we stopped at are where people live and they are very welcoming tourists. If you join this tour, you’d better bring cash to give it to supportive local people.

Langa Township Tour Cape Town - An amazing time with an excellent guide; professional, informative, encouraged questions. Our first stop was the District 6 museum which explained the group areas act and how residents were forcibly moved out of their homes and relocated to a location. We walked through the township in a group of five, visited a crèche, a traditional healer and a shebeen. The emphasis was on acknowledging the past and looking to a positive future. Excellent.

Very interesting and informative - Really interesting and informative trip with our guide Hamilton. Great insight into life in the township. While we were happy to overpay for some of the “local crafts“ these are the same crafts available throughout Capetown.

Late and Short! - Because of a mixup between the office staff and driver we waited an hour and a half before being picked up. Instead of extending the tour to make up for the lost time the tour was rushed and concluded after just over two hours when the tour was supposed to last between three and four hours. The information we received was informative but appeared scripted instead of authentic. Very disappointing.

Book if you don’t want you guide to show up - With only 3 days in South Africa, we wanted to make the most of our trip by booking some tours. Holiday Inn provided us with the African eagle brochure and insured us that the tours were great. That is the furthest thing from the case. Our tour guide NEVER showed up and after many excuses from the travel company a driver showed up and hour late, only to take us to a location where he claimed the group would be. We didn’t pay to meet up with the group after an hour that it had started. Save your time, money and frustration and don’t book with African Eagle.
