Outstanding sunrise hike - Incredible experience! You don't need extreme fitness level to be able to climb this mountain. But what you do need is a guide like Shamier to take you on the journey.
He collected us from the hotel, stopped for coffee then guided us up the mountain. It was well planned on time to reach the summit for sunrise.
Watching the sunrise like that was so special but having Shamier take us there was the icing on the cake. He's a life coach, full of wisdom and one of the most motivational people I've met.
I can honestly say it was one of the best, most humbling and inspiring trips of my life.
Book up with Shamier, you won't regret it!

Excellent hike up Lions head - Human picked us up from the hotel and drove us to the start of the hike to see the sunrise. It was dark when we set up but he had all the necessary equipment we needed to safely reach the top for the sunrise . He was friendly and approachable and it was a very relaxed hike, going at our own pace. The sunset was stunning .
Human took lots of pictures and videos for us and put them into a montage for us.

Amazing hike! - We had an absolutely fantastic sunrise hike up Lion’s Head with Shamier. From start to finish, the experience was exceptional. He picked us up directly from our hotel and made everything easy and stress-free, and after the hike he safely dropped us back again.
Shamier is incredibly kind, professional, and knowledgeable. Along the way he shared great insights about Cape Town, the hike itself, and also his own life journey and transition into running his own business which was genuinely inspiring and added a very personal touch to the experience.
He made sure we completed the hike safely at all times, guided us confidently over the trickier sections, and never rushed us. He also knew all the best photo spots and took amazing pictures and videos of us with the sunrise and city views — something we really appreciated and will cherish.
If you’re considering a Lion’s Head hike, especially at sunrise, we highly recommend Shamier. He goes above and beyond and truly cares about giving you a memorable experience. Thank you so much, Shamier, I hope we will meet again! ❤️

100% worth the early... - 100% worth the early start in the morning to get up for a spectacular sunrise over the city. Shamier was a fantastic guide, really friendly and made the hike very enjoyable. At the top he pointed out the best photo spots and took time to take photos. He was really flexible as well and moved the hike due to adverse weather on the original day. Overall a brilliant experience.

Late, substituted, patronizing, extremely disappointing. - On February 13th, my operator for private tours, Shamier, contacted me and with in it said he would pick me up at 5:00pm for a Lions head sunset summit. I said that seemed late due to traffic and timing, to reach the summit and enjoy the sunset. On the 15th with further communication, Shamier confirmed an earlier start between 4:30 and 4:45pm. I agreed to this. In the mean time, he had said I could pay for the pickup and drop off with a card. However, he was never able to send me a functioning link for either prepayment for the pickup/drop off (it was for Newlands) or for the required indemnity form. Now, he was asking for cash for the pickup and return- 500 rand. On February 18th, the day of our hike, I received another message confirming the 4:45pm pick up around 10:am. I arranged my day to get back to the pick up spot for the 4:45pm pick up time. At 2:35pm while I was out of phone communication, Shamier sent a message saying he had made a 'typo' earlier in the day and he would not come until 5:30 or 5:45pm. (Was it a 'typo' on the 13th and 15th as well? I don't think so) I did not get it until 3:30pm when I had quit working early to be at the pick up location for our agreed upon 4:45pm time. I am not happy with the change in time, but there is nothing I could do. I ask to be notified when he is arriving because I cannot see the road from my room at the back of the house. Then at 5:26pm I receive another message saying he will not be coming, but he is sending another person in his stead. Four minutes or so before he is supposed to be arriving. Now he says that his last tour is running late, so he cannot make it for mine. He says he is sending Zaahied. He gives me no photo. No license plate number or even what the car type is. And says remember, I must have 500 Rand cash. I ask for the identifying information and instead of answering Shamier starts telling me how wonderful its going to be and how I just need to chill out. (Very rude.) I ask for the information again and he does not say. Instead he tells me again that I just need to chill so I can have a stress-free experience. About 5:27 I go out on the street to wait, because Shamier says my ride is arriving soon. At 5:48 (I've now been waiting out on the street for 20 minutes) Shamier messages to say Zaahied will be in a white Hyundai. No plate number. At 6:00pm I am still standing outside. I contact Shamier and tell him it is too late to start. I will not have time to enjoy the sunset, even if we do make it to the top, before the sun disappears. So then Shamier tells me I need to be calm, relax. Everything is flowing as it should be. For whom? I paid for a private tour with him that was supposed to leave at 4:30-4:45pm. I'm standing on the street at 6:00pm (too late) waiting for a last minute substitute, knowing my time at the top is going to be very short now. I CANNOT recommend Shamier's services in any way. To note: Zaahied did show up just after 6:00pm and I did go with him. We got to the top literally as the sun was dropping below the horizon. Took a few pictures quickly and had to immediately start back down again. Really disappointing. I paid for the private to be able to sit up top, relax and enjoy the sunset. There was not time to do so. Zaahied was a nice person, that's the only reason I gave the one star.

If I could rate 0 stars I... - If I could rate 0 stars I would. The transfer from my hotel was provided. However, the guide was not present at the meeting point, and so I was left stranded at the side of Lion’s Head Mountain, at 4am, not able to get in contact with the guide or know what was going on.
In a country where safety is important, clearly this is a huge problem. I also don’t think Viator have proper solutions in a situation like this. Such a poor experience, please do not use this trip. Potentially dangerous.
