Said and the Robben Island Tour - Said was amazing and on time, very personable and friendly. He patiently walked me to the boat, took photos, made sure I was well and understood how the day of touring Robben Island would look like. He was patiently waiting at the pick up spot right after I got off. Highly recommended!

My experience - Visiting Robben Island, located just off the coast of Cape Town, is one of the most powerful historical experiences in South Africa. The island is best known as the prison where Nelson Mandela was held for 18 years during apartheid. Today it is a museum and a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Interesting tour - A very interesting tour of Robben Island. However we don’t expect to be in such a huge group of people, not quite the intimate experience we were expecting for the price

Visit to Robben Island - Excellent interesting visit made all the better by being guided by a former prisoner who was charged with sedition and held for 5 years. Very efficient system from queuing at ferry to loading on coaches and ferry back again - smooth operation. Def worth a visit to put into context the history of South Africa

A moving look back at history not to be missed - Hearing the passionate account of what happened at Robben Island from an ex prisoner while your there was extremely moving and an experience not to be missed. We managed to get last minute tickets but the fee charged by Said Travel was more than double the usual price and they did not do a hotel pick up as advertised. The organisation at the port for the ferry was chaotic. Queues to pick up tickets and the ferry was almost 1 hour late. The 45 minute tour of the island is no where near enough to take everything in.

Visit Robben island - I admit I was a bit skeptical at first because this is the first time I use Tripadvisor. But in the end I find it very convenient. The only downside for me is the claimant I did not meet. I thought I'd see him before boarding the ferry to Robben Island.
