A Silent Journey Through History. - Visiting Robben Island Museum alone was an experience I’ll always carry with me. The quietness of the island spoke louder than words. As I walked through the cells and heard real stories of struggle and hope, I felt deeply connected to the past. The guide’s calm voice made every detail come alive. It’s more than a museum—it’s a Place that changes the way you see freedom.

We felt grateful and reflective. - Visiting the Robben Island Museum in Cape Town with my friends was an unforgettable experience. Walking through the historic prison where Nelson Mandela was once held felt emotional and deeply meaningful. Our guide, a former inmate, shared real stories that made history come alive. The entire tour was well-organized and inspiring. Standing together, we felt grateful and reflective — a powerful reminder of South Africa’s long road to freedom. Truly a must-visit.

Too much waiting! - Round trip this tour took close to five hours for about 45 minutes of interesting information. We signed up the day before for an 8:00 tour. We started boarding the ferry about 8:15. The ferry didn’t leave the port until around 8:50. The crossing took about 50 minutes. Then we transferred to a bus and had to wait for the bus drivers to come on a different ferry. Then we toured the island by bus finally arriving at the prison. The prison guide was indeed a former inmate so that part was interesting. We also got to see Nelson Mandela’s cell, which was somewhat interesting but really, you’re better off just watching a documentary about Nelson Mandela and using your time to do something more interesting in Cape Town.
