Great blend of a tour and free time at end - Enrique was awesome!! Friendly, funny and knowledgeable. Tour was very easy to find right off of the ship. I really liked this tour because we saw many things and at the end we had the option to go back to the ship or continue on our own. Enrique gave us recommendations and options for where to go and what to see. We toured the Roman ruins, had some great food, and did a little shopping. It was an easy 10-15 minute walk back to the ship. I would recommend this tour.

Cartagena and Valencia - My husband and I enjoyed two tours with Spanish Day Tours- Cartagena and Valencia. We thoroughly enjoyed both tours as they were well organised and informative. The guides were great with a huge depth of knowledge. Roberto was very prompt in replying to any enquiries that we had re the tours, and it was very easy to book. I had requested a reminder about a final payment and this was received in a timely manner. I would thoroughly recommend Spanish Day Tours to anyone planning a trip to either city.

5 stars for all 4 tours! - We booked shore excursions at 4 different cruise ports in Spain via Spain Day Tours website, and found them all to be excellent, with helpful and timely email correspondence and pick up and drop off; comfortable coach buses; and knowledgeable, skilled, organized, courteous, efficient and responsive guides. From Cartagena, we took the Spain Day Tours/Top Day Tour for Cartagena and Murcia. Antonio, our guide, was outstanding with his familiarity and pride in this area. Marisa, our driver, was skillful and safe. We enjoyed our visit to the Sanctuary of Fuensanta and Convent, Murcia old town, our Cartagena driving tour, and our walk through the old town of Cartegena, especially to see the Roman theater and other excavated sites, and our visit to ARQUA and the waterfront during our free time. From Palma de Majorca, we took the Palma and Valldemossa tour. Christina, our guide, was humorous, and enthusiastic, with interesting stories. Driver Alejandro was good, too. We enjoyed our driving tour through Palma to Bellver Castle, and our walking tour of Palma with visits to Park de la Mar and Palma Cathedral, especially our optional inside tour of the Cathedral guided by Christina. We then traveled by bus to Valldemossa for a walking tour. We fit in time for a visit to the Cartuja Monastery, and the Frederick Chopin piano concert during our free time. We walked over 10,000 steps/4 miles over uneven terrain, so be prepared. From Barcelona, we took the Barcelona Highlights tour with Park Guell and Sagrada Familia. Spain Day Tours was very helpful, via email, in advising us about purchasing Nativity Tower tickets in advance for time on our own at Sagrada Familia. Yolanda, our guide, guided us efficiently through the park, was extremely knowledgeable about Gaudi, and engaged us in discussions to better understand Gaudi’s creations. Ramon, our driver, navigated the busy streets safely, and efficiently managed our pick-ups and drop offs. We walked about 9,000 steps/3.5 miles over uneven terrain, so plan accordingly. I highly recommend Spain Day Tours for your independent cruise ship shore excursions in Spain.

"Exploring the Historic Charm of Cartagena and Murcia, Spain" - Cartagena, Spain Cartagena is a historic port city in southeast Spain, in the Murcia region. It’s known for its ancient Roman ruins, like the Roman Theatre, built over 2,000 years ago. The city has a beautiful waterfront along the Mediterranean Sea, with a naval history tied to its old shipyards and submarine base. You can explore museums, old forts, and charming streets with colorful buildings. Cartagena is warm, sunny, and great for history lovers and beachgoers. It also hosts lively festivals like Carthaginians and Romans, celebrating its past. Murcia, Spain Murcia is a sunny region and its capital city, located inland from Cartagena. The city is famous for its Baroque-style Cathedral of Murcia, with a tall bell tower. It has a mix of old and new, with narrow streets, lively plazas, and modern shops. The Segura River runs through it, adding scenic bridges and gardens. Murcia is known for its tasty food, like fresh vegetables, rice dishes, and tapas. The region has beaches, mountains, and warm weather, making it great for outdoor activities like hiking or visiting coastal towns. Both places are welcoming, full of culture, and perfect for exploring Spain’s history and sunny lifestyle.

Tour taking us past important farming regions & historically rich Murcia. - We didn’t realize how important the city of Murcia was and its history. The bus we rode on was comfortable and had great windows. The tour guide was interesting being French, he gave a good overview from a broader perspective. We learned a lot and the guide was very responsive and knowledgeable in answering our questions.

A lovely place to visit - Cartagena is worth visiting for everyone. Its historic sites are fairly close and easy to find. The town has beautiful buildings to observe , good shopping and many outdoor bars and restaurants. There's a pleasant seafront to explore.

This was a half day tour - This was booked with the understanding that it was a full day tour. The fact of the matter is we get started till 8 o’clock and it ended at 12:30. We could’ve easily stayed in the little town that we went to for a longer time. So I felt a little disappointed that we didn’t have more time in the first town. And we were told to get off the ship immediately. Then we waited around for a half an hour for another group who took forever to get off the ship.

Tour was good- could not understand our guide.. - Could not understand 90 percent of what the guide said. Talked too fast even after asking her to speak slower. Accent did not help.

Cartagena shore excursion - The tour left without us. Disembarkment was at 8:30. I called the tour company and was told a text had been sent to me which I didn’t receive until 8:40. Prior to this time we were looking for our tour at the location by the dock. Whomever I spoke to said the driver left without us at 8:37 and would not come back for us. I was at the location! The driver was not! This is totally unacceptable given we were a group of 6 counting on a wonderful day which turned into a nightmare for us all. This is not the first time we used your services, but it will be the last as this has happened before. A full refund by your company is the least that should be done

Bad poor - That you don’t spend time in Murcia I’m writing this note to share my disappointment on the shore excursion tour to Murcia we took on May 2nd, 2025 from the celebrity ascent. Since the moment the tour started we noticed the poor english Almudena our so called tour guide had. In fact some other people complained they couldn’t understand what she was saying. The first stop was the sanctuary of Fonte Buena, which we couldn’t visit because it was closed. The guide told us we had to wait 15 minutes for they to open but after 45 minutes we left the place since it was never opened. Then we arrived in Murcia and had a poor walking tour with not much historical information. We just had 30 minutes of free time that was not enough to enjoy the city When we were in the walking tour one of the guides of the other bus came to talk to Almudena and said: “ No important que estaba cerrado el santuario, yo les inventé que una monja se enfermó y todos tranquilos” Which it’s translated as “even though the sanctuary was closed, I made up a story about one of the nuns being sick and everyone believed it” I happened to be from Mexico so I understood everything ! There was no use going there in the first time since we just waisted our time Finally on behalf of the six of us, I’m strongly asking for a response to this complaint with the proper refund of the shore excursion so I’ll be looking forward to hearing from you soon . Yours Sincerely Rebeca Oderberg
