Casablanca - The 4-day tour from Casablanca to Marrakech begins by gathering all travelers at a designated meeting point in Casablanca.
Meknes - The first stop is the imperial city of Meknes, where visitors will explore key attractions such as Lahdim Square and Bab Mansour Gate. The journey continues to Volubilis, one of the best-preserved Roman sites.
Midelt - After lunch, the tour proceeds to Ifrane, often referred to as the Switzerland of Morocco due to its chalet-style houses. The route passes through the Middle Atlas Mountains to Azrou, where there is a stop at the cedar forest to see monkeys and take photos. The day concludes in Midelt, known as the “City of Apples,” where the night is spent.
Middle Atlas Mountains ⇢ Ziz Valley ⇢ Merzouga Desert
Aoufous - Following breakfast, the journey continues to Merzouga through the Middle Atlas Mountains, with several brief stops for photos and to appreciate the scenery. After lunch at a local restaurant, the tour proceeds, stopping for a panoramic view of a palm-filled oasis.
Merzouga - En route to the desert, the tour passes through Erfoud, renowned for its fossil products. By afternoon, the group reaches the Merzouga Desert, where a camel ride to a luxury desert camp awaits. Along the way, there is a stop to watch the sunset over the Erg Chebbi dunes. Upon arrival at the camp, guests are greeted with Moroccan mint tea. After dinner, enjoy a campfire with traditional Berber music and a starry sky before retiring for the night.
Merzouga ⇢ Rissani ⇢ Todgha Gorges ⇢ Bouman Dades
Merzouga - An early rise is recommended to witness the stunning sunrise. After a delicious breakfast, guests can return to the meeting point by camel or 4X4 vehicle (Buggy and quads are available but not included).
Souqs of Rissani - The day includes a visit to the traditional souk of Rissani, one of the largest in southern Morocco, open three days a week (Tuesday, Thursday, or Sunday). It serves as a shopping hub for Berber nomads. Rissani, also known as Sijilmassa, was the first capital of Morocco’s current ruling dynasty.
Todgha Gorge - After Rissani, the tour heads towards the Dades Valley, stopping at the Todgha Valley and Gorges to see the kasbahs. There is an opportunity to walk through the Gorges before continuing to the Dades Valley.
Dades Gorges - The day concludes in the serene Dadès Valley, where the tour explores remarkable rock formations known as monkey fingers. A drive to a panoramic viewpoint of the Gorges offers the sounds of birds in the lush valley. Overnight stay in a hotel.
Dades Valley ⇢ Ouarzazate ⇢ Ait Ben Haddou ⇢ High Atlas Mountains ⇢ Marrakech
Dades Gorges - After a delightful breakfast, the tour proceeds to Ouarzazate via Kelaat Mgouna (Rose Valley), where the annual Rose Festival is held. Short stops are made to visit local cooperatives and learn how women transform roses into beauty products.
Ait Ben Haddou - The tour visits Ouarzazate, known as the Hollywood of Africa, then explores the Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This fortified village exemplifies Moroccan architecture and was a key point on the “Route of the One Thousand Kasbahs” during the Sahara Desert caravan routes. The Kasbah has been a filming location for movies like Gladiator and Game of Thrones.
Marrakech - The journey continues to Marrakech, crossing the High Atlas Mountains with stops for breathtaking views of Berber villages and lush mountains. Arrival in Marrakech is in the late afternoon, with drop-off at the nearest accessible point to the hotel/riad or Menara Airport, marking the end of the 4-day Casablanca to Marrakech desert tour.
