Discovering Morocco’s Imperial Cities

Our journey began in the bustling city of Casablanca, where we were greeted by the impressive Hassan II Mosque, a marvel of modern architecture and the largest mosque in Africa. The kids were fascinated by the intricate designs and the sheer size of the mosque, and it was a great way to kick off our Moroccan adventure. From there, we traveled to Rabat, Morocco’s capital, where we explored the Mechouar, the tombs of Mohamed V and Hassan II, and the Kasbah of Oudayas. The kids loved running around the Kasbah’s gardens, and we all enjoyed the stunning views of the Atlantic Ocean.

Our next stop was the charming town of Asilah, with its whitewashed buildings and vibrant street art. The kids were thrilled to see the colorful murals, and we spent a lovely afternoon wandering the narrow streets and enjoying the laid-back atmosphere. In Tangier, we visited the famous Hercules Caves and Cap Spartel, where the Atlantic Ocean meets the Mediterranean Sea. The kids were amazed by the natural beauty of the area, and we all enjoyed a picnic lunch with a view of the sea.

Embracing the Beauty of the Atlas Mountains

As we made our way through the Rif Mountains to Chefchaouen, the kids were captivated by the stunning landscapes and the unique blue-washed buildings of the town. We spent a relaxing day exploring the town’s winding streets, and the kids loved the opportunity to play in the town’s central square. From Chefchaouen, we traveled to the ancient Roman ruins of Volubilis, where the kids were fascinated by the history and the well-preserved mosaics.

Our journey continued through the Middle Atlas Mountains, where we encountered snow and had to take a detour. This unexpected adventure turned out to be a highlight of our trip, as we discovered charming Berber villages and enjoyed the breathtaking scenery. The kids were thrilled to see snow in Morocco, and we all enjoyed a snowball fight in the mountains.

In the desert town of Merzouga, we embarked on a camel trek into the Sahara Desert, where we watched the sunset over the sand dunes. The kids were in awe of the vastness of the desert, and we all enjoyed a magical night under the stars at a desert camp, complete with traditional Berber music and a campfire.

Experiencing the Vibrant Culture of Marrakech

Our final destination was the vibrant city of Marrakech, where we explored the bustling souks and the famous Djemaa El Fna square. The kids were fascinated by the snake charmers and street performers, and we all enjoyed sampling the delicious street food. We visited the beautiful Bahia Palace and the Saadian Tombs, where the kids learned about Morocco’s rich history and culture.
