A real taste of Morocco - Visual was an amazing host! She had so much information to share about Moroccan food and culture. Leading up to the class she asked if we had any allergies or food preferences and even helped us organize transportation to her house and back. She opened her home to us and in doing so really gave us a view into life in Morocco. The food was hands down the best meal we had in the country.

Amazing In-Home Experience with Local Moroccan! - I spent 11 days in Morocco doing research for my travel agency, and this was one of my favorite experiences! Wissal arranged transportation to and from my hotel and was great about communicating through the entire process. Another couple and a family of 3 were present for the class and it was wonderful to chat with Wissal about Moroccan life while we compared things to our lives in the United States and Germany. She made sure every person in the group had the opportunity to take part in various stages of the cooking process and we were offered coffee, tea, and cookies in addition to all the dishes we made. We also had the chance to try on some traditional Moroccan clothing and take photos prior to eating our meal. Wissal gave each of us a gift before we left and she shared the recipes with us in a PDF after the class. I cannot recommend this experience enough!

The best Casablanca has to offer - Spending New Years Eve with Wissal and her mother Mahra was the highlight of our 2 week trip to Morocco. Though Mahra worked behind the scenes, the evening would not have been possible without her. We were welcomed so warmly into their home, we felt like family by the time we left. We enjoy learning how to make a traditional tajin, mint tea, 2 different types of salad, and virgin Mojitos. We had wonderful conversations about Moroccan culture, family life and traditions. We tried on traditional Moroccan celebration wear. This was a master class in hospitality! Do your self a favor and book this class immediately!!!

A moment of great cultural sharing! - My friend and I took a cooking class: we were able to prepare three tagines, one beef, one chicken and one vegetarian, because my friend is vegetarian. Wissal has adapted perfectly to us! We loved our exchange, we were able to try on her dresses and had a wonderful time. I would recommend this experience to anyone passing through Casablanca.

Exceptional Involving The Whole Family - Simply a lovely afternoon. Would recommend it over and over. Well organized and efficient. The young woman, an engineer by education speaks perfect English, is personable, clear and knowledgeable about all things Morocco. You would enjoy just sitting and sharing mint tea with her and chatting about what Moroccan life is really like. She is supported by her mother, a traditional cook who knows everything by a pinch here and a spice there, however clear recipes are provided. The mother had cooked sweets (fabulous) on the ready and helped bring out the meal once everything was finished. Everyone who wants to be is involved in an easy informational way. The flow is easy and the laughs enjoyed. The kids were happy grating lemon zest and fixing a cucumber and tomato salad. I’ve had other cooking classes in homes in other countries and this was by far the best. Very thoughtful by giving the group her “family” spices and other trinkets. I’ll never eat couscous any other way. She showed us how to make it right. Sign up and you won’t regret it.

A fun cooking class of an authentic Moroccan meal and wonderful hospitality! - This was one of the highlights of our experience in Morocco! From the time I contacted Wissal with interesting the class, she kept very excellent and positive communication. She even arranged a driver at a fair price to pick us up and drop us back off at our hotel. In preparation, she asked ahead of time what our favorite meals were so she could prepare and buy the ingredients. She put us at ease when we arrived, and we enjoyed coffee which her mother makes with her own special mix of spices. It was flavorful and very special. Later, we prepared the vegetables for a salad, and the chicken for chicken tagine and lamb and vegetables for the lab tagine. She placed eggplant, tomato and red pepper in the pan to toast for a dip. While everything was cooking, we enjoyed mint tea and homemade cookies. Conversation flowed easily, and amongst old friends. She shared traditions with us, and answered any questions we had regarding our questions and experiences in Morocco. While the tagines were finishing up, we sliced the roasted vegetables, addd spices and stirred on a pan over the stove. Once the meal was ready, we took the items to the table (at her direction), and she offered for us to try on traditional clothes. We did, and she took pictures for us. Next, we enjoyed the food we prepared. As avid cooks, we appreciated being able to make the food with her, and we’re happy it was not simply a demonstration. It was bittersweet once we it was time to go, as we felt we met a new friend. Experience for yourself an authentic Moroccan meal with amazing hospitality and fun!
