Hassan II Mosque - On the first day of the tour, the magnificent Hassan II Mosque will be visited. It is the largest mosque in Morocco and Africa, boasting the tallest minaret in the world at 210 meters. This Moorish architectural marvel was constructed in 1993. After enjoying lunch somewhere along the corniche, the journey continues to Marrakech.
Exploring Marrakech
Medina of Marrakesh - Following breakfast, the City Tour begins with a guide, exploring Marrakech’s most significant historical and cultural sites, including: The Souks, Bahia Palace, Koutoubia Minaret, Saadian Tombs, Medersa Ben Youssef school, and the Majorelle Gardens, which house a fine museum of Berber costumes.
Jemaa el-Fnaa - Enjoy a free half-day at leisure to experience the evening at Jamaa Lafna square, with an overnight stay at a Riad or Hotel in Marrakech.
Marrakech - Ait Ben Haddou - Dades Valley
Ait Ben Haddou - After breakfast, the journey from Marrakech to Ouarzazate begins. Along the way, there will be stops to admire the stunning views of the Atlas Mountains and traditional Berber villages. Before reaching Ouarzazate, a stop at Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou, one of Morocco’s most spectacular walled cities, is planned. It is a UNESCO World Heritage site and has been featured in films and series such as Gladiator, Kingdom of Heaven, Babel, and Game of Thrones. The journey continues through Ouarzazate, visiting Kasbah Taourirt and Atlas Studio, then through the Valley of Roses to reach the Dades Gorges, where a night will be spent in a charming traditional hotel.
Dades Valley - Todra Gorge - Merzouga Desert
Todgha Gorge - After breakfast, the route heads south to the Sahara Desert via Todra Gorges, where a walk will be taken to explore these magnificent and narrow gorges.
Merzouga Desert - After lunch, the journey continues through the palm grove of Jorf, an oasis filled with date palms. Erfoud town is reached, where a local fossil craft workshop is visited. In the afternoon, arrival in Merzouga town occurs, where camels await. After a rest, accompanied by a guide, camels are ridden across the high dunes of Erg Chebbi to a luxurious camp, where relaxation and a shower can be enjoyed before a traditional Moroccan dinner under the stunning starry desert sky.
Merzouga - Ziz Valley - Midelt – Fes
Merzouga - In the morning, if early enough, the incredible sunrise can be witnessed. After a delicious breakfast, the adventure continues back to Merzouga town by camels or 4x4 vehicles.
Ziz Valley - The itinerary towards Fes begins through the Ziz Valley, with a stop for breathtaking panoramic views of palm trees and gorges.
Azrou Cedar Forest - A stop for lunch and photos of wild monkeys in the Cedar forests of Azrou is planned.
Ifrane - The final stop is in Ifrane, known as the Switzerland of Morocco, where fresh-squeezed orange juice can be enjoyed. The long journey concludes in Fes.
Exploring Fes
Fes el-Bali - After breakfast, a local guide will accompany the City Tour to explore the oldest imperial city in Moroccan history. The tour begins with visits to the Medina’s exterior parts, including the Royal Palace of Fes, known for its beautiful Moorish architecture, and the Jewish Quarter “Mellah,” dating back to the 14th century.
Medina of Fez - The city tour continues to cover the most important historical and cultural sites inside the Medina, including the architectural masterpiece of Medersa Attarin or Bou-Inania, the Quaraouiyine Mosque founded by Fatima Fihria in the 9th century, Nejjarine Fountain, Bab Boujloud, the blue and green gate, the big Chouara Tanneries, and the Merenid Tombs. After feeling as if stepping back in time, a free afternoon is available to relax or enjoy the streets of the old Medina, with an overnight stay in a Riad.
Fes – Chefchaouen
Volubilis - After breakfast, the drive to Chefchaouen via Ouazane includes a short stop at the Roman ruins of Volubilis, a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its beautiful mosaics. Additional stops for drinks and fresh air in the Rif Mountains are planned.
Chefchaouen - Upon arrival in Chefchaouen, a free afternoon is available to explore the Medina of Chefchaouen, a unique city with whitewashed walls and blue doors and windows. Unlike many parts of Morocco, this city was occupied by Spain, and the influences of Spanish civilization and architecture are evident. There is also an opportunity to meet locals and walk in this beautiful Medina, with an overnight stay in a Riad.
Chefchaouen - Tetouan – Tangier
Cap Spartel - After breakfast, the drive to Tangier via Tetouan includes stops for panoramic views and fresh air. Arrival at Cap Spartel, where the rough Mediterranean meets the calm Atlantic Ocean, occurs. It is a dramatic and fertile point known to the Greeks and Romans as the “Cape of the Vines.”
Caves of Hercules - The last stop is at the Caves of Hercules, a few kilometers along the coast. The caves are a symbol of Tangier, with their unique sea window shaped like a map of Africa. The journey continues to Tangier city, where a night will be spent at a lovely hotel.
Tangier - Assilah – Rabat
Hassan Tower - In Rabat, visits to the most important historical and cultural sites are planned, including the Oudayas Kasbah, a coastal fortress built in the 17th century, and the Hassan Tower with its incomplete minaret, Chellah Necropolis, Kings Palace, and the Royal family tombs.
Rabat – Casablanca
Casablanca - After breakfast, transportation from the accommodation to Casablanca airport is provided, marking the end of the 10-day desert tour from Casablanca.
