Coldwater Ridge Visitor Center - Overlooking Mount St. Helens, the Coldwater Visitor Center is part of the Mount St. Helens National Volcanic Monument. Located along State Hwy 504, about 45 miles east of I-5, it was built in 1993 and spans over 24,600 sq. ft. across two floors.
- Offers stunning views of Mount St. Helens and easy access to Coldwater Lake, which includes picnic areas, a boat launch for non-motorized or electric boats, accessible trails, fishing, restrooms, and parking.

Coldwater Lake - On the way to or from the Johnston Ridge Observatory, take a detour to Coldwater Lake, formed by an avalanche during the volcano’s eruption. The lake is a short distance from the highway, with a parking area and paths leading to the lake, restrooms, a boat launch (electric motors only), and trails. Keep your wristband as proof of payment for visiting or hiking the trails within the Mount St. Helens National Volcanic Monument. There are also hiking trails around Coldwater Lake. Coldwater Lake offers a peaceful conclusion to a long and scenic journey through a breathtaking landscape.

Eruption Trail - After this stop, the journey back will take approximately 2 hours to reach the drop-off locations. This trail is a barrier-free, paved hike of less than one mile from the Johnston Ridge Observatory. It features interpretive kiosks and offers 360-degree views of Mount St. Helens and the surrounding blast zone.
