Begin with a historical overview of pottery craftsmanship: learn about the laboratory’s origins and discover the roots of ceramic production in Sicily and around the globe. Be guided by an expert artisan on your journey through the enchanting world of pottery. Understand every stage of production before enhancing your artistic skills in ceramics.
Work on the potter’s wheel under the guidance of an artisan and shape your own ceramic piece, crafting your personal masterpiece. Gain additional insights into ceramics and then decorate your creation with the help of an expert designer.
Once your work is finished, your ceramic pieces will be fired in a special kiln (a 48-hour process), and if desired, your handcrafted items can be shipped to you (shipping costs apply separately). Enjoy a tour of the ceramic shop and take home a souvenir for your friends and family.

Highly recommended - Very nice experience, wonderful care by the fantastic staff and overall impressive craftsmanship. Authentic handicraft and Sicilian tradition. I would recommend everyone to make this trip!

Amazing family experience - This was a highlight of our time in Sicily. We have 3 young kids (6, 4, and 1). The two older kids participated as well as my husband and me. We all had a lot of fun and learned a lot. All of the artists who helped us were exceptionally warm and kind with our children, which made the experience very special. We can’t wait to see all our finished pottery sent back to us at home to remind us of such a great day!

Very fun experience in Catania - Very,very fun way to spend a half day. Learned how to use the pottery wheel, a press, and painted several tiles. All being shipped home. Super nice and friendly instructors.

Amazing from start to finish - Wow! We had such an amazing experience. This was very much a highlight of our trip to Catania and is a must for anyone who wants to try something new, something different or something that is just so memorable. The team at Ceramiche De Simone are not just experts and great teachers they also are lovely people to spend time with. They went above and beyond to make the 3 hour visit so incredible. Thank you!

we loved it - This was just brilliant, it was like taking a expert class on a potters wheel and painting with the most kindest and friendly instructors and artists . we loved it , thank you so much for making us feel so welcome.

Absolute Perfection. - Oh my, where do I start,
I have wanted to try Pottery for as long as I can remember, finally for my 30th Birthday my husband and I booked this experience.
Believe me when I say that it is well worth every penny. It is such a personal experience, the teachers are very helpful and just lovely people. The day was filled with laughing and great vibes !
The workshop is just incredible, being able to watch the very talented artists create in the same space you learn. It is not just a class, you sit in the teachers chair where they create.
Painting the tiles was a pleasant surprise, it is alot harder than I expected! My husband got the hang of it very quickly! They were very impressed !
I am so soo grateful for this experience and recommend it to anyone who visits Catania.
If I ever visit Catania again I will come visit/book another class.

The best memory from Catania. - This is one of the best memories from Catania. I was with my husband and we met wonderful people there. The place is unique. A beautiful factory, full of wonderful handicrafts.
We had the opportunity to work with Giovanni and Katia. Giovanni showed us how to work with clay on the wheel and it must be emphasized that he was very patient. Katia showed us how to paint on ceramics.
Before going there, it is worth bearing in mind that you can get dirty, which was not a problem for us. We also received aprons, which in our case protected us completely 😊
If you have the soul of an artist in you, this place is a must on your list.
Thank you very much.

One of the nicest date ideas in Catania! - We loved learning about the process and taking part in it both by making our own clay vessels as well as painting! We get to keep all of the things we made and Giovanni was an amazing teacher and friend!
