- Chiesa di San Gaetano alle Grotte - An ancient lava flow cave, repurposed in Greek times as a cistern and later as a catacomb tomb by the Romans. According to tradition, it was the initial resting place of Saint Agatha.

Great leadership! - Great really worthwhile guidance that is worth their money. Not only did we see and learn a lot, but we also laughed a lot. Unfortunately, I can't remember any names and therefore I can't mention our great guide by name.

Visited 4 sites with... - Visited 4 sites with underground locations in Catania, each with some relation to Catania's long history, from the ancient Greeks, Romans, and Byzantine, and the cataclysms (earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, and war). Tour gude was knowledgeable and personable both in English and Italian!

Hidden corners that come to life - I did this guided tour on Saturday afternoon with my partner. The guide showed us 4 underground sites not the best known telling us with sympathy their respective stories. Only observation: the group consisted of 35 people and the guide had to explain everything in both Italian and English, I recommend smaller groups maybe divided according to language.

15 minutes. - It is a walk that in 15 min vc has seen enough. The rest is a succession of stories of Santos and frescoes that can barely be seen.
