• Craters Silvestri of Mount Etna - The Silvestri Craters are two dormant volcanic craters situated on the southeastern slope of Mount Etna, the tallest active volcano in Europe. Named after the Silvestri family, who owned the land where they formed, these cones are located at an altitude of approximately 1,900 meters (6,234 feet) above sea level and are easily accessible from the main road leading to the Etna South Rifugio.
  Today, the Silvestri Craters are a favored tourist spot. Visitors can hike to the craters and explore the interior of the cones. The views from the craters are breathtaking, and visitors can also observe the other active craters of Mount Etna in the distance.
