The adventure starts with a picturesque drive up the slopes of Mount Etna to reach the renowned Sapienza Refuge, situated at 1,986 meters. Surrounded by striking volcanic scenery, participants will explore the captivating Silvestri Craters and recent lava fields from the volcano’s latest eruptions.
Guided by a certified nature expert, participants will then venture into the subterranean world of an authentic lava cave, equipped with a helmet and headlamp.
Enjoy a leisurely stop at a local products store located on Etna’s fertile slopes. Sample Sicilian delicacies such as local honey and olive oil.

Etna on a windy day. - Couldn't ask for a better guide, Florence is very knowledgeable and friendly.
She made the group feel like we all knew each other for a long time, and even on a windy day she managed to show us all the important things you have to see.
The tasting experience is a thing you have to do!!!
Friendly staff, and all the products are blowing your mind!!!

Great experience on Etna! - We had an amazing time on this tour. Our guide Naldo was friendly and knowledgeable, and quite funny. We walked around the volcano and learned a lot about the lava, the plants, and even all the ladybugs. The cave was also very interesting, and we learned a lot about how it was made. The tasting at the end was also incredible, all the food and drinks were great. I highly recommend this tour!

Great trip - Alessandro our guide was excellent
Very knowledgeable about my etna, the lava and never rushed us.
After that we went to the lava cave and wine testing.

Perfect Etna experience for those in Sicily without a car - We chose Etna Tribe after looking at lots of other options for a tour of Etna. For us, pickup and dropoff from our accommodations in Catania was appealing, and our tour group consisted of exactly eight people. Florence, our tour guide, was great from start to finish and gave us background info on the geology, plants and animals of the Etna region as we climbed towards Rifugio Sapienza, the starting point for the tour. The weather was cloudy and foggy, and Florence suggested it may not be a good idea to take the cable cars to high altitude, because there would be nothing to see. We did a guided hike from the Rifugio, and we saw several craters and the remains of recent lava flows, with Florence and her companion guide providing more information. After the Etna hike, we continued on to a wine shop for a wine and food tasting. Beforehand I was much more interested in Etna than the wine tasting, but I really enjoyed the breadth of Sicilian food and drink specialties we had a chance to try.

Mt etna and Sicilian tastings tour - Enjoyed a day filled with activities. Easy pickup in Catania and transfer to mt etna. Chose to do the cable car (80 euro extra) which included the journey and a tour at the top of etna. Bruna was an awesome guide. Her high energy throughout the day was very much appreciated.

Amazing Day - Pick-up was easy and smooth, and Claudio was such a gentleman throughout the day. In our group of 8, we were the only ones who chose the cable car and jeep experience. Claudio made sure we had our tickets and guided us in the right direction, which made everything stress-free. When we returned, the group was right there waiting for us, perfectly timed.
The lava cave was another highlight, with a short but hike over the rocks. Stopping at the winery afterward was the perfect way to end the adventure relaxing with lunch, good wine, and great conversation with the group.
Drop-off was just as seamless as pick-up. Overall, an amazing day that I would highly recommend!

Must do activity if visiting Catania - Here's mama Etna . She comes alive with a tour leader (Bruna) who lives and breaths the mountain. You have to be lucky for the weather to be good. And we were. As we left, the rain came in and it would not have been so pleasant.
We were in a group of 6 and the guide could switch effortlessly between English and French to make sure we all understood what we were looking at.
The food and wine tasting was also really enjoyable. There was no high pressure sales pitch which was refreshing.
You've really got to pick one of the options that takes you up higher to enjoy the day.
The base package only gets you up to 1900 meters and you really need to get to two and a half thousand meters to get a feel for the mountain.

Beautiful experience. That's cool! - We were a group of 8 people from different parts of Italy but also foreigners; despite this our guide, Simone immediately made sure to involve everyone without making anyone feel excluded. He didn't limit himself to the mere explanation related to the tour but for him everything was a starting point to tell us something new and I must say that it was a really good experience, which I would do again!

Whatever you do, book this experience for a fun day full of joy! - Thoroughly enjoyed this hike with Tommaso, our guide, from Etna Tribe. It was challenging, fun and educational. Our hike comprised of a small group of 6, and included a hotel pick-up and drop-off, optional hike options and a wine/olive oil tasting. I honestly can't fault any part of the experience and was the highlight of my trip to Sicily.
Forever thankful to Tommaso from Etna Tribe as the perfect guide. He is so funny, charming and a Geology post-grad, so he truly knows his stuff. I'm so happy I booked this experience and cannot wait to return to Catania, which really stole my heart.
