A Journey Through Nature’s Masterpiece

As the sun began to rise over the Andes, my husband and I found ourselves eagerly awaiting the start of our adventure in Caylloma. The anticipation of witnessing the majestic 20-meter waterfall was palpable, and as we embarked on our journey, the excitement only grew. Our guide picked us up from our hotel at the break of dawn, and we set off towards the Aguada Blanca Salt Flats National Reserve. The drive was serene, with the early morning light casting a golden hue over the landscape.

The reserve was a sight to behold, with vicuñas and alpacas grazing peacefully amidst the wild flora. It was a gentle reminder of the beauty and tranquility that nature offers, a perfect prelude to the spectacle we were about to witness. As we continued our journey, we made a brief stop at Patahuasi to sip on some coca tea, a local remedy to help us acclimate to the altitude. The warmth of the tea was comforting, and it prepared us for the next leg of our adventure.
