Canon del Sonche - Located in the town of Huancas, from a viewpoint built on the mountain ridge you can observe the Sonche Canyon in whose depths (980 meters approximately) runs the river of the same name that for more or less 11 kilometers is cutting the narrow canyon until it joins with the Utcubamba River, the site allows us to connect with nature, enjoy the landscape and engage in the calm and energy that fills the place, minutes later we will transfer to our next destination.

Kuelap fortress in cable car
Fortaleza de Kuelap - 09:50 hours.- We will pick you up from your hotel and begin the transfer to the fortified citadel of Kuelap, en route we will observe the archaeological site of Macro, whose walls are decorated with rhomboid and zigzag friezes, continuing with the journey we will arrive at the village of Nuevo Tingo, where we will pause to hire our lunch and then continue to the boarding station where we will board the bus that will transfer us to the cable cars, after 22 minutes of travel in the cable cars, we will arrive at the tourist stop of Malca, from there we will begin a walk of about 30 minutes to Kuelap, we will walk through its narrow passageways flanked by circular houses decorated with stone friezes, ceremonial sites, tombs hidden between its walls, is spectacular the size of the walls that protect the citadel that can reach up to 20 meters high, after lunch we will begin the return to the city of Chachapoyas.
Sarcophagi of Karajía and the cavern of Quiocta
Sarcofagos de Karajia - 09:00 hours.- Starting from Chachapoyas, we will travel to the town of Cruzpata, from here we begin a 30 minute walk (downhill) until we reach the anthropomorphic sarcophagi of Karajía, set of statues nestled in the middle of an inaccessible cliff and that keep for centuries the mummified bodies of the most important rulers of what was the pre-Inca culture of the Chachapoya, after visiting the place, enjoyed the explanation of the guide, and taking the photographs for the memory, we will start returning to our vehicle and then move to the city of Lamud, where we will have lunch.
Cavernas de Quiocta - After lunch we will move to the tourist stop of Quiocta, where we will equip ourselves with the necessary elements to enter the cavern, first we will make a tour of the interpretation room, which will allow us to better understand the different stages of occupation of the cavern as well as the archaeological finds that were made, during the intervention and touristic facilitation of the place, minutes later we will start a walk of approximately 5 minutes until the entrance to the cavern, from there we will begin the tour on platforms, perfectly illuminated, that will facilitate the transfer and a better enjoyment of each of the sectors of the cavern, such as: the areas of funerary use, the area of the stalactites and stalagmites, each sector have its artificial lighting system that will allow us to enjoy every detail, take the best photographs and memories, at the end of the afternoon we will begin the return to the city of Chachapoyas.
Revash Museums and Leymebamba Museum
Mausoleum of Revash - 8:00 hours.- We will pick them up from your hotel and begin the transfer to the town of San Bartolo to visit Revash, a funeral center made up of rectangular constructions of up to three floors that served to place the mummified bodies of the most important characters of the culture of the Chachapoya, the walls of these funeral houses have decorations like niches of cruciform, quadrangular shapes and the “T” shape of it present decorations like cave paintings of figures of humans and animals that adorn both the walls of the “chullpas” and the rocks that circulate to the constructions, guided tour and photo session in the place then we will return to our vehicle and begin the journey towards our next destination.
Museo de Leimebamba - After lunch we will visit the Leymebamba community museum that exhibits and protects abundant archaeological material rescued from the mausoleums of the Laguna de los condors, highlights the exhibition of 219 mummies, textiles, quipus, ceramics and weapons belonging to the Chachapoya culture, Chachapoya-Inca and other Andean cultures, guided tour, time to buy crafts and tour the museum gardens, minutes later we will start the return to Chachapoyas.
Gocta Falls
Cocachimba - 09:00 hours.- At the indicated time we will pick you up from your hotel and leave for the village of Cocachimba 45 kilometers distant from Chachapoyas, after an hour of travel we will arrive to the village of Cocachimba, there we will visit a restaurant to reserve our lunch, then we will start the walk of about 5 km, (about 2:00 hours approximately per stretch) to the Gocta Falls.
Catarata de Gocta - The Gocta Fall is considered the third highest in the world, its 771 meters high divided into two jumps, its varied flora and fauna, inhabit different species of birds some of them endemic, make it a destination that you should not miss visiting, get to the base of the waterfall is really an unforgettable experience that fills the spirit and the body with new energies, after having enjoyed the place and photographs of de rigueur we will start the walk back to the town of Cocachimba where we will have lunch and then start the return to the city of Chachapoyas
