Awesome architecture tour - I had a fantastic day out with Rusty, getting to know the interesting history of Chandigarh and its stunning architecture! He is very easy and fun to be with and enjoyed our stops along the way, such as a great coffee shop and superb street food restaurant for lunch. He even gives helpful advice on what souvenirs to buy with good taste! I highly recommend Rusty as your tour guide when in Chandigarh.

Amazing Experience! - Rusty was an excellent guide! We saw all of the main highlights of Chandigarh and were impressed by his depth of knowledge of the history, culture, and architecture of the city. He also made it consistently engaging — we were never bored, and he’s a wonderful and funny guy. We got to visit places that are normally hidden to the public, and even Chandigarh locals may not know about. He also took us to incredible food and coffee places. Would highly recommend to anyone.

Can't imagine a better guide to Chandigargh - Rusty is an excellent guide: highly intelligent, knowledgable and well orgnised, but perhaps more importantly - because we were alone together for two whole days - he's also extremely good company and lots of fun (and a good and careful driver, also important since we drove between all the sites) - the prefect travelling companion. The buildings by Le Corbusier and his cousin Pierre Jeanneret are among the masterpieces of modernist architecture and are rightly a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Rusty has an intimate knowledge of their history, having grown up living in and using these buildings, so he brings a personal perspective that you don't always get on tours like this. He got me into buildings that I would never have been able to see by myself, so I felt very privileged to have him with me. He also knows all the best places to eat and is a bit of a coffee fanatic, so we went to all the best coffee spots. I enjoyed my time with him so much that I have promised to let him show me around Amritsar later this year.

Highly recommended ❣️ - I had a great time in chandigarh with Rusty. He is sweet, educated and love his hometown. He knows the best time to visit places avoiding crowd and heat, where the best coffee is! (that not that easy to find good coffee in India) Being a female solo traveler wasn’t even a question Highly recommended ❣️

A rewarding day in Chandigarh with Rusty - I initially debated whether to hire a guide for my Chandigarh visit, but choosing Rusty proved to be a good decision for my two-day trip to the city (and I hired him for just the second day). He greeted me professionally and quickly helped organize our day efficiently. What I appreciated about Rusty's tour was his local connections. He arranged access to the Capitol Complex, handled Secretariat permissions that typically require advance planning, and had pre-booked tickets for Rock Garden that saved us waiting time. These arrangements were particularly helpful given my need to reach the bus station by 4pm. I found Rusty's knowledge about Le Corbusier's urban planning quite informative. As someone not typically interested in architecture, I was surprised to find myself engaged by his explanations of the sector design and grid system. He presented information in an accessible way, using stories that kept our small group (myself and two other tourists) interested throughout. What added value to the tour was Rusty's perspective as a local who cares about preserving Chandigarh's architectural heritage amid ongoing development. These insights provided context you wouldn't find in standard guidebooks. During our tour, we encountered other tourists planning their itineraries, and Rusty offered them helpful suggestions based on his experience. For visitors with limited time in Chandigarh, Rusty's tour strikes a good balance between covering key sites efficiently while providing substantial information. His genuine enthusiasm, encyclopaedic knowledge and personal touch make this tour absolutely worth it. Don't make the mistake I almost did – book Rusty for an authentic Chandigarh experience!

Chandigarh - I had a great first visit to Chandigarh; Rusty picked me up from the airport and made me feel safe as a solo femme traveler from the very start. He also ensured that my booking at the Pierre Jeanneret guesthouse went through, which was a big highlight of my stay. Apart from breathtaking modernist architecture, we explored some delicious local food and coffee spots. Unfortunately, the main government buildings were closed due to an unannounced visit by the president. Rusty had great back up plans though and it will give me just another reason to go back.

Well Worth Doing! - Rusty was a fantastic guide; super friendly and extremely knowledgeable about a wide range of things; not just the architecture. We did hesitate at the price, but it was well worth it so if you are also hesitating, I'd encourage you to do it! We saw everything we wanted to, learnt everything we wanted to, and a bunch of other things that we didn't know we wanted to see or learn about! And excellent food recommendations as well, with great conversations during down time :) My favourite place to visit was the semi-abandoned cinema, while my girlfriend's was the rock garden. Was also great to see parliament and court buildings of course and I'm sure it would be even better but for the fact that went while Parliament was in session so couldn't go inside. Overall, thoroughly recommend!

Bop around town with a consummate Chandigarhian - A master craftsman in the art of conversation and invaluable resource for visitors to Chandigarh. If you’re anything like me (student, interested in architecture, only in Chandigarh for 1 day), you may find Rusty relentlessly multiplying the value of your limited time in town. You’ve been warned… PS. Ask about staying in the original Pierre Jeanneret house near Sukhna Lake!
