Chiang Mai – Doi Inthanon – Mae Sariang (278 km.)

Mae Sariang - Get acquainted with your bike on the highway journey heading south from Chiang Mai to Doi Inthanon National Park, Thailand’s highest peak at 2,565 meters above sea level. Enjoy the excellent winding mountain road through scenic pine forests. Explore Thailand’s finest waterfall, nature trails, Royal pagodas, and botanical gardens. Descend to Mae Chaem for a relaxing lunch at a local restaurant. After lunch, continue riding through pine forests until reaching Mae Sariang, near the Myanmar border, where you can later enjoy your peaceful accommodation.

Mae Sariang – Mae Hong Son – Pai (287 km.)

Pai - After breakfast, depart Mae Sariang for Mae Hong Son on narrow, twisty roads. In Khun Yuam, take a break to visit a World War II museum. Visit Wat Phra That Doi Kong Mu, the first temple of Mae Hong Son, located on a hilltop. Lunch is served at a local restaurant. Visit the unseen Su Tong Pae Bamboo Bridge, built by villagers and locals of Ban Gung Mai Sak. This beautiful bridge is supposedly the longest bamboo bridge in Thailand. Then return on twisty roads to Pai, where you will reach charming accommodation with a swimming pool. In Pai, enjoy delicious local cuisine at a restaurant near the river. In the evening, after dinner, explore the delights of the Walking Street market.

Pai – Chiang Dao - Tha Ton (270 km.)

Mae Ai - Before breakfast, early in the morning, you have the opportunity to offer food to the monks along the streets of Pai’s local market. After breakfast, visit the Pai World War II Memorial Bridge. Return to winding mountainous roads. Later, arrive in Chiang Dao for a relaxing lunch at a local restaurant. After lunch, visit the Chiang Dao cave. Then ride along fantastic mountain roads via Thailand’s “Little Toscana” until reaching Tha Ton, where you will visit Wat Tha Ton on top of the mountain and enjoy the amazing sunset. Later, relax in your charming accommodation with a fantastic river view.

Tha Ton - Golden Triangle (144 km.)

Golden Triangle - After breakfast, depart Tha Ton to visit the long-neck Karen tribe village near the Thailand-Myanmar border. Ride to Doi Mae Salong, home to Chinese mountain tea farmers. You will have the chance to taste Thailand’s best tea there. Then return on curvy roads to Doi Tung Royal Villa. Visit the Winter Palace and the botanical garden. Lunch is served at the Royal’s Project restaurant. Continue along winding roads to Mae Sai, the northernmost point of Thailand. Reach the Golden Triangle to take a long-tail boat trip on the Mekong River and briefly visit a small village in Laos (no visa necessary). Visit the Opium museum before relaxing at your peaceful accommodation directly on the mighty Mekong River.

Golden Triangle - Chiang Rai - Nan (328 km.)

Nan - After breakfast, ride along a scenic farming area road to Chiang Rai city. Visit the famous White Temple (Wat Rong Khun), one of the top 10 wonder temples in the world. Lunch is served at a local restaurant. Ride the exhilarating, mountainous highway to Nan. Visit Wat Phra That Khao Noi (Nan hilltop scenic temple) before relaxing in your lovely accommodation and taking a dip in the swimming pool. Later, discover and enjoy Nan’s nightlife.

Rest Day in Nan

Nan - A day of leisure. Today, enjoy doing nothing at all. Relax by the pool or shop in the town. Optionally, you can explore the historical and cultural sites of unseen Nan by bicycle. (Laundry service available)

Nan – Bo Kluea - Phayao (334 km.)

Phayao - Sirikit Dam - Uttaradit (331 km.)

Uttaradit City - After breakfast, depart unseen Phayao. First, ride south a bit on the main highway, then use the back roads via Mae Yom National Park. Later, ride again on fantastic motorcycle dream roads and enjoy the breathtaking scenery of Khun Sathan National Park. Lunch is served in the middle of nowhere with a million-dollar view at a local restaurant. The highlight of this day will be crossing the Sirikit lake. Take the motorbikes on a wooden ferry across the Sirikit dam reservoir. Sirikit dam is the largest earth dam in Thailand. Continue on the highway passing through rice fields until reaching charming Uttaradit. It is a small city near Lampang and a few kilometers from Denchai. Very few tourists visit this area, but Uttaradit city and its surroundings are worth visiting. If you want to see authentic Thailand, the one not many tourists see, you definitely have to come here. Later, enjoy the beautiful accommodation with a swimming pool.

Uttaradit – Sukhothai (89 km.)

Sukhothai Historical Park - After breakfast, leave Uttaradit riding again on backroads and passing through massive rice fields until reaching Sukhothai. A short day of riding gives plenty of time to discover one of the highlights of this amazing motorcycle tour: the Ancient Sukhothai Historical Park, designated world heritage site number 574 on 12 December 1991 by UNESCO, and enjoy the amazing sunset in the old ruins. A magical and memorable scene. Later, arrive at the guest house, where you enjoy the charming classic wooden Thai accommodation with a swimming pool.

Sukhothai – Lampang - Chiang Mai (343 km.)

Chiang Mai - After breakfast, leave Sukhothai riding again on biker’s paradise roads via the “Columnar Mountains” road R101 to Den Chai, visit a large reclining Buddha. Then ride through winding mountainous roads to Lampang. Lunch is served at a local restaurant. Continue riding through national parks and farming areas. Visit a local market, stopping for refreshment, before heading back to Chiang Mai.
