This half-day tour takes you through the renowned Sankampaeng district, the epicenter of Thailand’s handicraft industry. Here, you can witness skilled artisans at work, crafting everything from intricate lacquerware to exquisite silk and cotton fabrics. The tour offers a rare glimpse into the meticulous processes that transform raw materials into beautiful works of art. As you wander through the workshops, you’ll have the opportunity to purchase high-end textiles and unique souvenirs, ensuring that you take a piece of this cultural experience home with you.
“A lot of shopping, less demonstration - Recommended for shopping lovers. I had thought this tour would focus more on the process of making handcrafts but it was 5% demonstration and 95% showroom/shopping. Useful if you’d like to see/buy a lot of different handcraft specialities (gemstones, furniture, silk, cotton, wood, silver, and we didn’t continue to the lacquerware), but not a lot of demonstration apart from the silk centre, where we saw the silk process from silkworm to weaving. Some of the places seemed deserted (possibly haven’t started the demos again due to covid?) Friendly and helpful guide, and comfortable van.” - Reviewed on 2022-12-17
