- Mount Yuelu - A friendly English-speaking tour guide and driver will meet guests in the lobby of their centrally located Changsha hotel at 9:00 am. They will be transported to Yuelu Mountain, where a cableway ride (included) will take them to the summit, and a sightseeing bus (included) will bring them back down. The tour continues with a visit to the Aiwan Pavilion, originally named Red Leaf Pavilion, which was renamed after a poem by Du Mu. Following this, guests will explore the renowned Yuelu Academy, situated at the base of the picturesque Mt. Yuelu on the west bank of the Xiangjiang River. Yuelu Academy, a “must-see” attraction in Changsha, was established in 976 and boasts a history spanning over a thousand years. It is celebrated for its illustrious past as a distinguished feudal academic institution and its current role as the site of Hunan University. Both tourists and students enjoy visiting this site to admire the captivating natural scenery of the surrounding mountains.
- Orange Island Park - The tour proceeds to Orange Island, the world’s longest inland river isle, which links Mount Yuelu in the west with downtown in the east. The island stretches 5 km in length, with a width ranging from 50 to 200 meters, covering a total area of 70 km². During his youth, Mao Zedong frequently strolled along the beach, swam, and sunbathed here. Visitors will have the opportunity to view a large statue of Mao Zedong at the island’s end, accessible by a sightseeing car (included). After the tour, guests will be returned to their hotel.

2244555 - (Let him listen to it. One day, rub his head for a while. Some places in the Vatican, aunts and uncles, Fengtai Hospital, also look up to the rain. TF Guanghui shares estimate that the high-speed rail will be suspended and weakly dissolved and weathered.)

Worth visting while in Changsha - It was an excellent day out. We started at the far end of the island and made our way to the statue. The statue is about 3KM away. A good walk with open grass areas and trees. Ideal for picnics, ball games, etc.
There are some small shops along the way for light snacks and a few Chinese hot spicy eats. If there isn't anything you fancy there's a KFC on the island :-)
The statue itself was an amazing view to see, busy, but managed to get a few pics in.
