Fantastic beaches - We were picked-up up from a point close to our hotel. The bus was on time and the staff was friendly. We bought a tasty lunch on board and drinks at a good price. The beaches were really beautiful, overall a great day!

Exceptional Service! - Very attentive, responsive, available. Great Service. My mother forgot a bag on a boat trip, they picked it up and brought it back to us. I recommend. Great excursions. Staff really nice!

Beauty all around - Great day at Balos beach and Gramvousa island. Pickup, boat ride and time to stay at these beautiful places was great. My only criticism was the food on the boat was mediocre at best. Still, well worth it for this tour!

Nice excursion - This is an excursion to do if you like the beaches with turquoise waters. Attention our excursion was with the Ferry - nearly 1,000 passengers, in other words the crowd.
And for the bravest the fortress after meters of walking. With breaks, it's doable for everyone. And especially a hat and water.

A beautiful beach trip - Overall, it was a pleasant trip. Balos Beach was absolutely beautiful. Stunning crystal-clear water, I thoroughly enjoyed swimming there.
Before travelling, I was mindful of some of the previous reviews, but having now experienced it myself, I found everything to be manageable. Our tour guide, Carolina, was informative, polite, and well-organised. The food on the ferry was also much better than expected, with plenty of good options, and I was able to secure a comfortable seat, which was ideal.
It is worth noting that the tour is combined with 10–20 other groups, meaning that the ferry carries approximately 800–1,000 people, all of whom will be sharing the beach and island at the same time. For a more relaxed experience, I would recommend either travelling outside the peak season or considering a smaller boat tour.

Great deal $, beautiful beaches, too many people! - Took my family to Crete in August of 2025 and obviously we wanted to see the highly coveted Balos beach and Gramvoussa Island that we booked through Trip Advisor. Overall experience 3-star activity - because of the boat and the ridiculous amount of people they pack into that boat. Also, lots of walking on tretrous terrain going up and down, on rocky terrain… all worth it because the beaches are gorgeous but something to consider if you have limited motility. But can’t beat the price! And the good thing is that they will offer pick up in Chania (we had to drive 65min from Rethymno and got picked up at a gas station). Great bus, clean, AC… then you get to the boat… and FIGHT for seats! We sat on the floor from Balos to Gramvoussa (20min) not the end of the world but not ideal with young kids. Another strong point is that the cafeteria on the boat is really good and very reasonably priced. We had breakfast with coffees and croissants and for lunch we had brought sandwiches thinking we wouldn't find anything but food was really good and snacks too, and available all the time you’re on the boat. They also sell alcoholic beverages. The beaches are beautiful- bring swimming shoes because even in the water it’s rocky and slippery. Also they sell drinks and food at Balos but it’s very expensive and it’s on the other side of the beach. Also you can rent an umbrella on the boat for a very decent 7€ for the day. Overall beautiful scenery but the amount of people on the boat + distance to walk from boat to beach, made it difficult to enjoy easily and fully.

Disappointing to avoid absolutely - We couldn’t wait DE discover Balos, famous for being one DE the most beautiful beaches in Crete, but the excursion proved disappointing overall.
The drive DE our hotel was much too long, with an underestimated travel time in the description (more than 3h round EN bus).
Once in port, the ferry was completely overloaded. Difficulty finding a seat, sweltering heat on board, and a feeling of being piled up like cattle, which clearly spoils the experience.
On site, the view is beautiful , but it does not compensate for the excessive DE transport time and travel conditions.
EN summary: too DE road, too DE crowded, and logistics to review.
