This unique experience starts with a 90-minute food history walking tour through the historic district, followed by a cooking demonstration, lunch, and a paired wine tasting at the beloved local venue, Bistro a Vin. The tour is led by Forrest Parker, Charleston’s sole South Carolina Chef Ambassador and Palmetto Guild Certified tour guide. Parker, who has led teams at some of Charleston’s most renowned restaurants, is celebrated as a “visionary who draws on the culture, history, and flavor traditions of South Carolina to craft heritage-infused experiences.” In 2016, Parker was honored by then-Governor Nikki Haley as a S.C. Chef Ambassador, marking a pinnacle in a culinary journey that began in 1995.
