A most memorable day with a personable and knowledgeable guide! - Our private tour with Kay was a highlight of our trip to Charleston. We learned so much local history as we toured Boone Plantation. Some of the slave history is quite hard to hear, yet important to know. We appreciated that Kay was intentional about pacing the tour and sharing her knowledge catering to our desires and interests. Kay is very knowledgeable and shared a lot of details that were fun to learn that we wouldn't have learned on our own, about city history, slave life, culture, etc. We spent a full 6 hours together and enjoyed every minute! In addition to being knowledgeable Kay was friendly and easy going, so we were very comfortable sharing our day with her, even enjoying a nice lunch stop together. We would highly recommend Kay as your guide, and would for sure book another tour with Kay, if we come back to Charleston.

Excellent Charleston private walking tour - K was an excellent guide. The information she shared was so knowledgeable, applicable, and just brought in so many pieces of history and how it applies to where we were. I don’t think I’ve ever enjoyed a walking tour as much as I did with her yesterday. We absolutely loved it.

Outstanding Charleston Tour — Kay Was Magnificent! - We had a wonderful experience with Walk It! Charleston, and especially with our tour guide, Kay. She was extremely informative, engaging, and truly exceptional at bringing Charleston’s history to life. Kay is a former teacher, and it absolutely shows — she has a gift for explaining details in a way that is clear, memorable, and fascinating. She also used visual aids to connect the stories to what we were seeing, which made the experience even richer. We toured around the grand homes South of Broad, and she was brilliant in her knowledge of the historical facts surrounding the old Port of Charleston, the industries of the day, and the development of the city over time. She also shared colorful stories that made each neighborhood feel distinct and alive. What impressed us most was that it seemed like she knew everyone who had ever lived in those magnificent homes — and their life story! She drove us to the tip of the peninsula and ended the experience with a walking tour that was absolutely magnificent. It was the perfect combination of comfort, storytelling, and beautiful scenery. We live in Folly Beach and had guests visiting from out of town, and they were completely blown away by this tour. It was one of the highlights of their visit and a wonderful way to experience Charleston.
