Tryon St. (the same building as THE OMNI HOTEL). Head up two short flights of stairs to the far left of Walgreens and Which Wich (do not take the escalator)….

- The Green - We pass through this unique and popular park right at the conclusion of the tour.

NO EXPERIENCE NECESSARY (but participants must weigh at least 100 lbs. and can’t be expecting a baby). We thoroughly and carefully train each guest BEFORE the 1.5 tour begins. It’s FUN and EASY! Follow your local guide as you glide throughout the city, viewing our unique architecture, art, parks, and historic spaces. Our city has a fascinating history, and you can see it all UP CLOSE on a Segway! Choose either a 1.5- hr or 2-hour ride (the longer tour has limited availability). This is a GREAT, POPULAR tour of Uptown Charlotte, however we are often unable to accommodate guests who arrive late. PROMPT ARRIVAL IS A MUST FOR THIS TOUR. THANK YOU!!!
- MUST BE ON TIME FOR THIS TOUR! Arrive 30-45 min. before start time for training!!!
- Minimum suggested age is 12 years old, but MUST weigh at least 100 lbs.
- For participants under 18, they must be with a parent or responsible party 21 yrs or older and have a signed waiver from a parent
- Minimum weight is 100lbs so the Segway computer can respond to your movement.
- Maximum weight is 280lbs.
- Dress code: Preferably wear comfortable closed toe shoes (though not required), weather appropriate layers, and no hats under helmets. Gloves recommended on cold days
- No pregnant travelers are allowed
- NOT recommended for those who might struggle in VERY HOT weather.
- NOT ALLOWED FOR PREGNANT PARTICIPANTS!
- NOT recommended for those who’ve had somewhat recent hip or knee replacements
- NOT recommended for those with unpredictable blood sugar issues.
- Participants must be able to stand for 1.5 -2 hrs and be able to climb stairs unaided.

Riding through Charlotte - We had a great experience with James. He was very knowledgeable of the area and sites we visited. He gave us a brief lesson on operating the Segways because we had all previously rode them. Overall the tour was a great and I highly recommend it.

James was an excellent... - James was an excellent tour guide. He gave us a brief overview of the Segways (we all had previous experience riding them) and we went on our tour. We passed so many cool sites and James gave us a history lesson on them. I highly recommend this tour for a fun and informative trip while in Charlotte.

Fun, enjoyable, learning, exciting, safe and well priced…. Best experience I had while visiting for a short stay. - I’m from small town Wyoming and was very nervous about getting out in HUGE town Charlotte but did a historic 90 tour on Segway scooters and the BEST time ever. I ended up getting a solo trip on a Monday, James was the absolute highlight of my experience. Was able to ride comfortably on the Segway and I turn 60 this year. I was worried about my balance, but never had an issue with James fun training….. after that I believe anyone can ride, if your worried don’t!! My balance is awful and I very much enjoyed the ride. The information on the history of Charlotte was really nice. Coming from the west and knowing cowboy history, this was really fun!! I would highly recommend any of their tours, I plan on coming back and doing a ghost one….. it is truly a MUST do and very much worth it!! Angie Frazier

Exceptionally Outstanding - If you select James as your guide, you’re getting one of the best. James made absolutely sure that I was safe at all times. I was so impressed with his knowledge of the area. Very up beat fun guy to hang out with.

Outstanding Tour and Outstanding Tour Guide - This Segway tour was tremendous! James was our tour guide and he was absolutely the best! Friendly, courteous, extremely knowledgable about the history of Charlotte, aware of the connection to Cincinnati and their claim for being the Queen City, and very proud of his community! James was great at answering our questions and took our photos in multiple stops. Highly recommend this tour!

Fantastic! - We took James’s Segway tour to get our bearings on the area since we’re relocating here, and it ended up being one of the highlights of our trip! James was incredibly charismatic and shared a wealth of information about the city’s history, neighborhoods, and local gems. His enthusiasm made the tour both fun and memorable, and his passion for Charlotte truly shines through.
Even our three teenagers loved it — which says a lot! It was the perfect mix of adventure, learning, and laughter. An excellent representation of the city, and a fantastic way for families to explore together. Highly recommend!

Well organised and fun - A good way to get an overview of Charlotte. The guide was charming and informative and the Segways were fun. We saw the 4 wards of Uptown Charlotte and learned a bit of the history.

Fun way of exploring Charlotte - Fun experience! You get an introduction at the beginning to make sure you feel safe. The guide always checked on us, gave interesting information and in general made it into a great experience!
