The views from the kasbah tower over the medina are delightful.
Grand Mosque - Built in the 15th century by Moulay Mohamed Ben Ali Ben Rachid, the son of the city’s founder, Chefchaouen’s Grand Mosque features a unique octagonal minaret, influenced by Andalusian styles brought by Muslims from Spain. Constructed from stone, its brown and beige hues contrast with the nearby blue and white buildings. Admiring the mosque is a top activity in the city, though non-Muslim visitors are not allowed inside.

Day 1:
Begin the trek from Chefchaouen to Afeska, a 7-hour journey through the upper valley of Tissouka. Encounter cedars, junipers, and unique local trees. Enjoy views of the Bouhachem natural park and nearby villages. After 3 hours of trekking, take a break for a picnic to rest and rejuvenate. Following the break, descend to the village of Afeska and proceed to the rural Gite in Afeska, where a warm welcome with local tea infused with medicinal herbs awaits. Overnight stay at the rural house.
Day 2: Afeska - God’s Bridge - Chefchaouen
The journey continues along a path at the base of Jbel Abdoun, through a magnificent forest of cedars and pines. The geological formations are stunning, and the forest is enchanting. With some luck, you might spot monkeys inhabiting the area. Return to Chaouen by taxi.
