Jinshanling Great Wall

Jinshanling Great Wall - Begin your journey from your hotel lobby in downtown Beijing around 7:00 am. The hotel should be located within the 2nd ring road of Beijing. Embark on a 2.5-hour hike on the eastern section of the Jinshanling Great Wall at 10:00 am, following a 2-hour drive. Enjoy numerous photo opportunities of the surrounding landscape, architecture, and towers. Originally, a section of the wall was constructed during the Northern Qi Dynasty. It features a comprehensive defensive system, including barrier walls, battlement walls, watchtowers, gun emplacements, horse-blocking walls, and branch cities. After being damaged by wars, a major restoration project was undertaken during the Ming Dynasty after Emperor Zhudi relocated his capital from Nanjing to Beijing. It underwent an 18-year reconstruction starting in 1580 by Qi Jiguang, a Chinese military general of the late Ming Dynasty. After the tour, return to your hotel.

Forbidden City, Temple of Heaven, and Summer Palace

Forbidden City-The Palace Museum - Please note: Due to strict visitor limits at the Forbidden City each day, if tickets cannot be secured, Jingshan Park will be visited instead.

You will be picked up from your centrally located hotel in Beijing, within the 2nd ring road, around 7:00 am. The group tour begins with the city’s highlights at the Forbidden City, the largest and most impressive imperial palace complex in the world since the 15th century. Formerly the Chinese imperial palace from the Ming dynasty to the end of the Qing dynasty, it now houses the Palace Museum. The group guide will lead you along the central line from south to north.

Temple of Heaven - Afterwards, visit a Chinese medicine center to experience the fascinating culture of ancient Chinese traditional medicine, followed by a visit to the Temple of Heaven. This complex was frequented by the Emperors of the Ming and Qing dynasties for annual ceremonies of prayer to Heaven for a good harvest. It is regarded as a Taoist temple, where the emperors prayed for a good harvest and peace for local farmers during the Ming and Qing dynasties.

Summer Palace (Yiheyuan) - Enjoy a delicious Chinese lunch at a local restaurant, then take a brief visit to a pearl gallery to learn about pearl culture. Proceed to the Summer Palace, the most renowned Chinese imperial garden from the Qing dynasty. Finally, you will be transferred back to your hotel.
