This section offers arguably the finest hiking anywhere on the Great Wall. It is extremely photogenic, with over 15 watch-towers, and steep gradients that give constantly changing perspectives and wide, open views. This section of the wall is wild, ruined, preserved and original. On a clear day, it is difficult to fail to take good photographs here.

The "wild" Wall - pure magic - My teenage daughter and I spent a day on the wall with our guide Peter. A local Beijinger, he was very knowledgeable and guided us out onto a section of the "wild" (unrestored) Wall away from the (other) tourists; so quiet, peaceful and scenic; what a magical experience. We enjoyed our day on the Wall with Peter very much. Thanks Great Wall Hiking.

A fabulous day walking to the top of the great wall of china - We had absolutely stunning weather that day. I took it up on me to make sure I hike up the 1200 steps to the top. It was not easy. Some of the steps are quite high. So be careful and wear good shoes. Take your time and hold on whenever you need to. But it sure is worth it.

BEST DAY ON MY CHINA TRIP- ONCE IN A LIFETIME EXPERIENCE! - This was an amazing day! The majority of the hike was on the unrestored part of the wall, so we were all alone the majority of the day! Our guide Cheney was amazing, so fun and informative. We had a great day with him. We went in February so it was cold, but not too bad. At the end of the hike, we made it to the restored part of the wall and finish the day riding down the rest of the mountain on a toboggan! So fun! We finished the day with a great meal at a local restaurant. I highly recommend this hike, well worth the money!

The ONLY way to experience the Great Wall! - Had an amazing journey thanks to Great Wall Hiking. Our guide Jimmy shared tons of information about the Wall and the local area. The drive to Mutianyu allowed for a glimpse into village life which we'd not yet experienced on our trip. The views from the Wall were breathtaking, and the hike was customized to our pace and interests. Our tour included lunch, but I was not expecting the delicious feast we were provided. Jimmy provided commentary and explanations about the food, how it was cooked and how it differed from other regions in China. Overall, a first-rate cultural experience!

Amazing Small Group Hike - We had an excellent experience working with Great Wall Hiking to set up our recent hike. Peter, our personal guide, was fantastic. Peter was a wealth of knowledge and a pleasure to be with. This was a challenging hike but well worth it!

AMAZING! - This hike was the highlight of my Beijing trip. Such a great hike, semi challenging but enjoyable. Jimmy was a great guide. I ended up being the only one on my hike but Jimmy made it fun and enjoyable. Definitely recommend Great Wall Hiking! Thanks for the great experience!!!

Great wall!! That´s why is a wonder - Great experience our guide was Cheney, with an excellent english a lot of patience because hiking was so hard and my sport condition was deplorable.
The food after hiking was amazing.
The car was so good and it had wifi

Had a fantastic time! - Our tour guide, Peter, was great! We spent a good 4 or so hours at the wall hiking and even had a break for some tea. Peter was so friendly, informative and even took several photos for us. Such a memorable experience. Highly recommend booking this tour!

Excellent, Advanced Hike with Great Guide! - Our guide Yaxin was excellent, and he led us safely over the course of the hike. I was the slowest in my group, and our guide was very accommodating, as the hike was not for beginners, and far more advanced than I expected. Overall though, it was 100% worth it and the delicious lunch after was delicious.
A note for people with bad knees: this is tough, as the portion going down hill is challenging.

The Great Wall a must see - An amazing tour to the Great Wall and one of the wonders of the world you must see. We had the pleasure of a lovely guide, Lily who was very informative and friendly and the driver was fantastic negotiating the busy Beijing traffic. The wall it’s self is a awesome sight and a highlight of our trip.
