Chengdu - In the morning, the driver and guide will meet the operator at 8:00 am at the Chengdu hotel to transfer to the Chengdu Panda Base, a 30-minute drive covering 15 km.
Giant Panda Breeding Research Base (Xiongmao Jidi) - The first stop is Chengdu’s Giant Panda Breeding Research Base, home to over 80 of China’s iconic pandas. While most are the familiar black and white pandas, the Base also houses several smaller, lesser-known red pandas.
Visitors can observe the pandas eating and playing in a habitat that closely resembles their natural environment. Additionally, they will learn about the efforts of scientists and ecologists to protect the remaining wild pandas and increase the captive population. Notably, over 100 pandas have been born at the Base since 1987.
The Base gained even more significance after the 2008 Sichuan earthquake, with eight pandas relocated here from the severely damaged Wolong reserve. The visit supports the ongoing conservation efforts both morally and financially.
Chengdu Renmin Park - Next, the tour proceeds to Renmin Park, a comprehensive garden that combines cultural heritage and entertainment. Locals often relax here by drinking tea. To truly understand the “Capital of Leisure,” a visit to Renmin Park is essential. From sunrise, crowds gather in the park’s shade. Stairs carved into the cliff connect the area at the Buddha’s feet with the land above, offering various vantage points to view this astonishing sight. The views over elbows and knees, encompassing the river scene and Leshan’s skyline, are stunning.
Upon arrival in Leshan, lunch can be enjoyed at a restaurant with a view of the Giant Buddha. The exploration of the Giant Buddha follows, with fantastic views of the surrounding landscape from atop the Buddha’s head.

Wulingyuan Scenic and Historic Interest Area of Zhangjiajie - The Wulingyuan Scenic and Historic Interest Area, located north of Zhangjiajie City, is a charming tourist attraction and one of China’s 40 famous scenic spots. It is described as ‘The ampliative miniascape and the contractible fairyland’ and was added to the ‘World Heritage List’ in 1992.
The Wulingyuan Scenic and Historic Interest Area boasts natural beauty where mountains, valleys, forests, caves, lakes, and waterfalls exist in total harmony. Over 560 attraction sights can be found here. The strangely-shaped peaks, absurd stones, hidden valleys, wonderful waters, and limestone caves form the ‘Five Wonders’ of Wulingyuan, which are truly worth seeing.
Covering an area of 690 square kilometers (266 square miles), Wulingyuan Scenic Area consists of four parts: Zhangjiajie National Forest Park, Suoxi Valley Nature Reserve, Tianzi Mountain Nature Reserve, and the newly added Yangjiajie Scenic Area.
Today’s tour will visit the Zhangjiajie National Forest Park and Tianzi Mountain Nature Reserve area.

Beautiful scenes of the mountain greet visitors in different seasons. There are four wonders: the Sea of Clouds, the Radiance of the Moonlight, Rays of Sunshine, and the Snow in winter.
BaiLong Elevator - After visiting Yuanjiajie (Avatar Mountain), a shuttle (15 minutes drive) will take the group to the Bailong Elevator. The Bailong Elevator is magnificent, with a total height of 335 meters (1,099 feet), of which the running height is 326 meters (1,069 feet). 154 meters (505 feet) of the total height is in the mountain wells, and the remaining 172 meters (564 feet) is composed of steel derrick and other components. The Elevator includes three exposure sightseeing elevators running parallelly. Each elevator can accommodate 50 passengers at a time, with a speed of 3 m/s (accelerated to 5 m/s since 2013). If all three elevators run simultaneously, the one-way passenger capacity reaches 4,000 per hour.
Golden Whip Brook - The group will hike for about an hour along the Golden Whip Stream, then take a shuttle to exit the park and return to the hotel.
Golden Whip Stream (Jinbian Stream) is renowned for its pristine water, verdant mountains, steep cliffs, and serene valley. Zhangjiajie Glass Bridge - Next, the tour heads to the Zhangjiajie Glass Bridge area, but there is no time to visit the Grand Canyon. Zhangjiajie Glass Bridge, also known as Zhangjiajie Grand Canyon skywalk, is the world’s longest and highest glass bridge, hanging over Zhangjiajie Grand Canyon. From a distance, it looks like a piece of white silk floating between the clouds and fog, hence it is also called Yuntiandu, meaning “a way of clouds to the sky.” Standing on it, if daring, visitors can have a bird’s eye view of the Grand Canyon.
Zhangjiajie - Finally, the group will be driven back to the hotel.

Tianmen Mountain National Forest Park - Today, 3-4 hours will be spent at Tianmen Mountain Park. The group will use the cable car or shuttle bus to ascend the hill, depending on traffic. Tianmen Mountain is known as the “New Legend Of Zhangjiajie.” It is the highest spot (1,500 m) in Zhangjiajie, where visitors can walk on super-exciting cliff paths and glass walkways, enjoying a bird’s eye view of the entire city and beautiful countryside. The landscape is entirely different from, yet on par with, the ZJJ National Park. Both are world-class sceneries, making it a must-visit highlight of the city. The clean river flows slowly along the city walls, with water plants swaying in the gentle waves. Occasionally, mist rises from the quiet green water, creating a fairyland atmosphere. The tour will then proceed to Wanming Pagoda on the river’s north bank. The hexagonal pagoda, approximately 21 meters (69 feet) high, has seven layers. Copper wind bells hang at each corner of the eaves, and colored paintings and sculptures adorn the pagoda’s body.
After enjoying the elegant pagoda, the tour will cruise down to the Rainbow Bridge. From the second floor’s window, visitors can enjoy views of the green hills, blue water, city walls, red slates, and stilted houses. Additionally, several boats can be seen moving quietly through the river.

Nestled at the foot of mountains and surrounded by rivers, Dong Village features well-preserved residential houses and a charming natural landscape. In the village, visitors will see the landmark constructions of Dong village, the Wind and Rain Bridge, and the Drum Tower. Constructed with wood and bricks, the Wind and Rain Bridge blends the styles of bridge, corridor, and kiosk into a whole, reflecting the unique Dong style and the wisdom of the Dong people. The bridge was initially built to provide shelter for field workers but later became a dating place for young people and a famous attraction for visitors worldwide. The lofty pointed tower with upturned eaves signifies arrival at a Dong Village. The Drum Tower, always located in the village center, serves as the political and cultural hub. Whenever the village chief beats the drum on the top floor, villagers stop their work and gather around the Drum Tower.
Chengyang–Longji–Guilin. O/N Guilin.
