The first stop is the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda (Panda Base), where the pandas are particularly lively in the morning. The environment is beautifully crafted with lush bamboo groves. Visitors can observe the adorable giant pandas as they eat and play, wander through their habitat, and watch a video to learn about the pandas’ daily lives.
- Leshan Giant Buddha (Da Fo) - Next, travel to Leshan with a drive of approximately 2 hours, enjoy a delicious lunch at a local restaurant, and begin exploring the Leshan Giant Buddha. This statue of Maitreya in a seated position was added to the UNESCO World Heritage list in 1996. Standing about 233 feet tall, the Giant Buddha features a symmetrical posture and appearance, beautifully captured in its serene stillness. Visitors will take a boat ride to view the entire Giant Buddha.
Afterwards, enjoy a comfortable drive back to downtown and be dropped off at the hotel to conclude the Chengdu trip.
