Upon arrival, visitors can admire the splendor of this Golden Temple, the largest of its kind globally. The temple is constructed in the center of a star-shaped pathway. The temple’s intricate gold covering was handcrafted by artisans skilled in temple art. Each detail in the temple’s design holds significance from the ancient Indian scriptures, the Vedas. Within the temple complex, there is a pond containing water from all the major rivers of India.
- Vellore Fort - The next stop is the 16th-century Vellore Fort, built by the Vijayanagara Kings. The fort’s deep moat was once filled with 10,000 crocodiles, making it impenetrable. The fort includes a temple, mosque, and church. The Vellore Christian Hospital and several government buildings are also located within the fort.
