Super fun cooking class with yummy dishes! - Had such a great experience at this Thai cooking class! The dishes we made were absolutely delicious and felt authentic. Cooking vegetarian options was no problem at all! Perm made the whole class even more enjoyable with his jokes. The school itself is beautiful, with a really calm and relaxing atmosphere. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a fun and memorable cooking experience!

Unbelievable - Everyone should try this cooking class. Going to the market and exploring all the ingredients is a great start, and then you get to make so much food together and eat it all. Handmade curry paste, papaya salad, and the best pad Thai I’ve had on the trip. You are able to choose from options in each category which is nice also. Mindful of allergies, and remembers everyone’s names. Chef is hilarious, knowledgeable, and kind. Unbelievable

Excellent, authentic cooking school. - We stayed as a family (3 kids 10,8 & 5) at Pan and it was outstanding. Since it's low season, it was just the 5 of us at Pan's. He went to great lengths to explain everything, helped the children and responded to their wishes. The food was excellent. Wie would book a cooking lesson at his school any time again. Highly recommended, very helpful, friendly and authentic. Thank you Pan for this wonderful cooking lesson with you. It was a pleasure.

Grace, Growth, and Garlic — My Real Experience at The Best Thai Cooking Course - Chiang Mai is full of experiences, and one of the most talked about is taking a cooking class. I did my research, narrowed it down to two, and this is the one I chose. I’ll start honestly. I did not initially receive a confirmation and had to reach out. When I did, they responded and made me feel welcomed and reassured that we were going to have a good day. I also appreciated that they provide pickup and drop off, which makes things much easier for travelers. The following day, I was excited and ready. The pickup did run about an hour behind, and I was not informed ahead of time. I’m sharing that only as an opportunity to improve communication, not as a complaint. Once we arrived, the experience itself was strong. Our host was amazing, entertaining, knowledgeable, and engaging. The market visit was interesting, though there was a lot of focus on meat. I had been told the class would be vegan friendly, but in practice, it was not fully so. I ended up purchasing oyster mushrooms myself so I could fully participate, and they kindly washed them and worked with me. We made it work. They did offer to substitute meat with prawns, which I appreciated. I am not a big prawns eater, but I did compromise. When I travel internationally, I am more open to fish or seafood than other options because it is handled differently and much fresher. While prawns are not my preference, I do want to acknowledge that the effort to accommodate me was made and appreciated. The visit to the farm was beautiful, and things moved a bit fast because there was a lot to cover, which I understood. The demonstrations were great, the lessons were solid, and the flavors came together well. One thing I feel is important to mention is hygiene during tasting. While cooking, some people were tasting by touching the spoon with their finger. This is not a cultural critique at all. People come from all over the world, and not everyone practices hygiene the same way. Studies show this clearly. The CDC estimates that globally only about 19 percent of people wash their hands with soap after using the toilet, and a recent survey in the United States found that nearly half of adults admit they do not wash their hands at important times, with about one in five saying they sometimes skip it completely, even though proper handwashing can prevent many infectious diseases. This is why I see this as a training opportunity. Small changes, like using separate tasting spoons, could make the experience more comfortable and safe for everyone. I also want to clarify one detail for fellow vegans. I stayed mostly true to my diet, but I did add egg whites to my pad thai to get a fuller experience. I felt a bit off the next day, so my advice is simple. If you are vegan, stick to what your body knows unless you truly want to experiment. At the end of the day, it was a good experience. The people were kind, patient, and welcoming. I truly hope this feedback is received in the spirit it is intended, as a thoughtful review meant to help the experience grow. I am glad I did it, glad I learned, and glad I experienced it while in Chiang Mai. If you want to post exactly this, you’re good. If you want one final tone check before posting publicly, say so.

Had fun. Double dipping. - Had a great time. Our group was a nice small size. Found it odd that everyone was using the same spoon to taste test demonstrations (double dipping multiple times) but no one else seemed to mind so maybe just us. You make sooo many of your own dishes though. Tons of food!
