Great experience - We had our trip to Chichén Itzá on 12.03. and chose the diamond package. We had a great time and everything was well organized. We were picked from the hotel lobby and taken to a meeting point in Playa del Carmen. We had to wait around 20 minutes for the bus to arrive but it was not too bad.
The tour guys were great and went above and beyond to ensure we are fine and enjoying the trip.
The trip itself lasted around 13 hours and we were a bit tired at then end but definitely recommend it to everyone!

Highly recommended - The experience was amazing!! The people in charge of the tour were really efficient and nice. If you want to learn about the history Luigy is your guide, Marco always gives the best advices and is always helping if you need anything, plus Esteban was a very good driver. Highly recommend this tour company if you want to do all the tour around the area.

Of the best experiences of my life - The truth is that the tour is very complete and everything we visited was beautiful, but certainly most of it is done by the guide, we were with Luigi and Fabiruchis and the truth made the tour one of the best we have ever been. I think we could not have played a better guide with as much knowledge and sense of humor as Luigi, the journey is about 2 hours, but with him at the microphone telling the story of the Maya and everything really wonderful that this country has, you do not pick up even the phone because you are caught listening to it. Fabiruchis was very helpful and resolute throughout. Without a doubt, I would repeat this tour and many more with them!!!

Tour with Chelino - We went with chelino, very nice. All very well, the service very good. In Chichen Itza there was a lack of historical information, sometimes he would get half defensive when we asked him any questions. The problem was when the tour ended that left us somewhere else, it was 3 blocks further, nothing serious but it was not where we were searched or we knew where we were. When he asked he also became defensive instead of giving us directions.

Tourist factory. Tour lasted 1,5 longer than promised. - Mayab Travel
We booked the tour at one of the booths on 10th Avenue (Playa del Carmen). “Pappi” was kind, welcoming, and spoke fairly good English.
He offered us a trip to Chichen Itza, with two stops along the way: a cenote and the city of Valladolid.
We asked what time the tour would end, and he replied that we would be back between 6:00–7:00 PM. This was the decisive factor for us, as we did not want to return late.
We were supposed to be picked up at 7:40 AM. The bus did not arrive until 8:10 AM, and we did not depart until five minutes later.
Then a one-hour-long information/comedy show started over the bus microphone. That in itself was fine, but the problem was that it was conducted in Spanish. Despite the guide, Luigi, saying he would also explain everything in English, this unfortunately only resulted in sporadic English comments.
We then stopped at a “Maya village,” which was clearly created solely for tourists, as we were only shown a few black stones and a souvenir shop. This stop lasted 50 minutes and was not something we had been informed about.
After that, we went to Valladolid, which was actually a city with some charm, but we were only given 25 minutes, so we did not have time to experience anything.
Next, we visited a cenote. They had chosen a cenote that was farther away from both Chichen Itza and the starting point (Playa del Carmen), instead of choosing one that was actually on the way.
The cenote was so commercialized that it had no charm at all. It felt like being in a tourist factory, combined with a noisy buffet.
The visit to Chichen Itza itself was fine and well organized. The guide kept it short and entertaining.
Due to all these unexpected and overly touristy stops, the tour did not end until 8:30 PM.
This is deeply unacceptable, as we were sold a tour that was supposed to end no later than 7:00 PM, which was crucial for us.
This was the first and last time we book a bus tour to a tourist attraction.
That said, the guides were kind and experienced.

A deceptive tour and a bad experience. - Don't co-treat this agency.
I hired this tour to visit a cenote and Chichen Itza mainly because the agency highlighted as a differential that the transfer would take about 2 1/2 hours per leg, unlike the excursion that goes to the Suytun cenote which in theory is slower, with the expectation that visits to the places would be longer. Unfortunately, this information was false and the experience was very disappointing.
The tour was scheduled to leave at 7:40, but we left after 8:00. The first point of interest was the cenote, which we arrived at just around 13:00, that is, more than 5 hours of travel, twice as long as promised.
The reason for this delay was that, without prior notice or consent, the agency decided to take us to a supposed community, which was in fact a point of sale of generic regional products, clearly oriented to tourist consumption. In addition, prices were significantly higher than in other outlets in the area, even more expensive than the same products around Chichen Itza. This stop was not agreed, took away valuable time and completely altered the schedule. They take you with their own money to an outlet and put on a show to sell you through a well-cobbled together story.
Upon arrival at the cenote, we were informed that the total time would be 1 hour and 40 minutes, which should be divided between going down to the cenote and lunch. The time was clearly insufficient to enjoy the place quietly, which again makes a terrible planning evident.
Then we headed to Chichen Itza, passing through a small town that added about 30 minutes. Once there, we were informed that the maximum visit time would be 2 hours, without tolerance, and that the bus would leave on time after that deadline.
The included guide service was of very low quality: little data, superficial explanations and only three points of interest visited. The guide lasted approximately 45 minutes, and then there was an hour and a quarter free to tour the site on its own. Personally, I took absolutely nothing of value from the guided tour.
The full tour lasted about 13 hours. If one discounts the transfers and analyzes the actual time spent on the places for which it was paid (cenote and Chichen Itza), it is clear that several hours were lost in unagreed activities, mainly the point of sale.
During the trip I claimed this situation to the retail agent who sold me the package (outside the wholesale operator), who did show concern and good willingness. Following that, the agency contacted the tour coordinator to talk to me. Unfortunately, instead of listening to me, the coordinator rebuked and treated me badly, which made the experience even worse.
The only positive thing I can rescue is that:
The bus was in very good condition.
The service on board was correct.
The agent who sold me the package showed genuine interest.
Everything else was a very poor experience that I do not recommend at all.
My recommendation for those visiting Mexico, and especially the Riviera Maya, is NOT to hire this type of tour. For Chichen Itza there are much better and cheaper options, such as traveling on your own on ADO and hiring a quality local guide on site. The same with cenotes: there are many that can be visited for very low cost, with access and economic transfers, and without wasting hours in commercial stops disguised as cultural experiences.
Although the price of the tour may seem reasonable, the service received is very poor, the time is mismanaged and the final experience is not worth what is paid.
I add the comment that I made the mistake of being late to return from the cenote but on the other hand I had to waste time claiming the life jacket that I had included and they did not want to deliver me.
At all times you feel that they hide information from you with the intention of selling you something else, for example the locker.

Mayabtravel Cheater - Don't buy them! They're horrible! They're scammers! They make you buy a higher-level "diamond" tour, and when you arrive, they offer you nothing! Don't buy! Awful Service!

Horrible experience! No... - Horrible experience! No one showed up, the tourist agency did not answer our calls or messages. We had to take taxi services from the hotel to the meet up location which was a waste of money. We waited for one hour and 20 minutes and it was more tourists waiting there for this tour. At this time I’m waiting for a refund since cuatro has to send a request for refund to the tourist agency. Never had such a horrible experience booking before this trip. Do not book this tour!!!
