This is a complex of Mayan ruins located on Mexico’s Yucatán Peninsula, featuring a massive step pyramid known as El Castillo or the Temple of Kukulcan. Visitors have 2 hours and 30 minutes to explore and enjoy the main attractions within the site.
- Cenote Ik Kil - The adventure continues with a visit to three stunning cenotes. The Yucatán Peninsula is primarily composed of limestone, which is why cenotes are unique to this region. The term “cenote” originates from the Mayan word “ts’onot,” meaning “hole with water.” For the Mayan civilization, Yucatán cenotes were not only a source of fresh water but also held significant religious importance. In Mayan belief, cenotes are portals to the underworld, home to the god of death “Xibalba” and other mythological beings. The first cenote, named Ik Kil, offers visitors 1 hour to swim and capture memorable photos.
- Xcajum - Xcajum is the second cenote on the itinerary. This open cenote allows visitors 1 hour to swim and take photos. Additionally, there is 1 hour allocated to savor the delicious Yucatecan cuisine available here.
- Cenote Real Dzonot - Cenote Real Dzonot is an underground cave-style cenote situated in a collapsed cave with an open roof, allowing natural light to illuminate the clear waters below.
