Begin at Ahu Tongariki, the island’s largest moai site. These 15 magnificent statues are not only remarkable in size but also embody the ancestors who safeguarded and led the communities, a strong testament to the Rapa Nui people’s reverence for lineage and tradition.
- Rano Raraku - Proceed to Rano Raraku, the volcanic quarry where most moai were crafted. Here, you can see moai in various stages of creation and learn about the technical expertise and spiritual importance of these sculptures, which symbolized power and ancestral connection.
Enjoy a traditional lunch (provided) at a nearby camping area, featuring chicken and other meats, fish, salad, rice, fruit, and water. A vegetarian option is available upon request. You’ll spend approximately 2.5 hours in total at Rano Raraku, including lunch time.
- Anakena Beach - The tour concludes at Anakena Beach, one of the few white sand beaches on the island. This location is not only a natural paradise but also historically important as one of the first Polynesian settlements on Rapa Nui. Relax, take in the scenery, and experience the harmony between nature and history.
After completing your sightseeing, enjoy a swim or a stroll along Anakena, one of the few white sand beaches on the island, for about 30 minutes before being transported back to your hotel.
