An optional short walk of about 30 minutes is available to further admire the terraces of the Colca Valley.
- Colca Canyon - Explore various viewpoints in the area to observe the remarkable terraces of the Valley. In the town of Maca, visit the church and optionally sample local beverages like the Colca Sour, crafted from regional ingredients. Before lunch, unwind with a soothing bath in the Yanque Hot Springs, where the thermo-medicinal waters range from 30º C to 34º C. Enjoy lunch in Chivay.
- Colca Canyon - Begin the return trip, stopping at the Mirador de los Volcanes, the highest point on the road (4900 meters above sea level), offering a view of much of the western mountain range. Passing by the snowy Chachani towards Pampa Cañahuas, travel through the National Reserve of Salinas and Aguada Blanca, where vicuñas roam freely.
