At the temple, there will be an opportunity to take part in a traditional purification ritual. Participants will enter the prayer hall to observe the monks conducting the ceremony.
For those interested, a protective charm (Ofuda) can be chosen as a souvenir. (The charm is included in the tour fee.)
Following the temple visit, participants will enjoy a lunch featuring Jindaiji’s renowned soba noodles, accompanied by stories about the area’s natural beauty and rich history.
The group will relax on a peaceful bench in front of Jindaiji Temple or the nearby Aquatic Botanical Garden, where handmade Nerikiri, a traditional Japanese confectionery, will be served as dessert.
The return to the station will be by car.

During the journey, the guide will explain the fundamentals of Japanese Buddhism and the temple’s rich history.
At Jindaiji, visitors will wander through the serene grounds and participate in a traditional oharai purification ritual. Inside the main hall, they will witness monks conducting this ceremony, where sacred fire is still utilized — a rare tradition maintained over the centuries.
Participants will receive a protective ofuda charm. Participation in the ritual requires an ofuda, and its cost is included in the participation fee.
Following this, guests will savor handmade soba noodles at a local restaurant, gaining insights into the land, cuisine, and history.
To finish, they will relax on a bench or in the Aquatic Botanical Garden and enjoy freshly prepared matcha tea and a seasonal nerikiri, a traditional Japanese sweet.
