Chogoria/Mount Meru Bandas - 4 hours, 16 km walk, 950 m ascent
Chogoria - Guests are picked up from the airport or their hotel in Nairobi at 7 am and driven to Chogoria town for an early lunch. Afterward, a 4x4WD vehicle transports them to the forest clearance, 16 km from the starting point of the walk. The journey involves a 16 km trek through the forest along a dirt road, which can be quite muddy, taking approximately 4 hours to reach Mount Meru Bandas at 2950 m. Dinner and overnight stay at Mt. Meru Bandas, B, L, D.
Mount Meru Bandas - Road Head Camp, 3 hours, 9 km, 350 m ascent
Mount Kenya National Park - Following breakfast, the path leads through giant heather and forest up to Chogoria road head. From there, the trail descends to cross a stream and then follows a broad ridge east of the gorges valley, reaching Road Head Camp in about 3-4 hours. Overnight stay at Road Head Camp at 3300 m.
Road Head/Mintos Hut - 4 hours, 12 km
Mintos/Point Lenana/Met Station - 11-12 hours, 29 km, 785 m ascent/1985 m descent
Point Lenana - Depart shortly after midnight at 2 am towards the main peaks, diverging after an hour above a flat green area known as temple fields, reaching Point Lenana by 6:30 am. After capturing photographs, descend to Mackinders for breakfast and continue down to Met Station at 3000 m for dinner and overnight rest, B, L, D.
Met Station/Naromoru/Nairobi - 3 hours, 9 km, 400 m descent
Naro Moru - After breakfast, descend through the rainforest for 9 km to Naromoru Park Gate at 2,600 m, where transportation back to Nairobi awaits, arriving at approximately 3 pm, B, L.
