Crown Escalator - The unique terrain of Chongqing has left many visitors bewildered. Are you ready to take on the challenge? Experience the Crown Escalator, reputed to be Asia’s longest escalator, stretching 112 meters and taking 2 minutes and 30 seconds to complete.
Liziba Station - Continue to another fascinating location. In Chongqing, taking a light rail is an indescribable experience. It may run through mountains, then suddenly be under a river, and even pass through a building where the 6th floor is the station hall, the 7th floor is the equipment layer, and the 8th floor is the platform layer.
Great Hall of the People - Visit the Chongqing People’s Auditorium, constructed in the 1950s. Covering 269,098 square feet (25,000 sq meters), it features a blend of Ming (1368-1644) and Qing Dynasty (1616-1911) styles with Western architectural influences. It serves as a venue for political meetings and cultural events. After exploring Chongqing’s landscape, enjoy the local cuisine - Chongqing Hotpot.
Yangtze River Bridge Chongqing - Next, take a ride on the Yangtze River cable car. Chongqing, known as a city among mountains and surrounded by water, is divided into three parts by the Yangtze and Jialing Rivers. The cable car offers a convenient and affordable way to cross the river, while providing tourists with an exciting view of the rivers and downtown Chongqing. Standing in the cable car with the wind on your face and looking down at the rolling water offers a breathtaking experience.
Hongya Cave - Continue the tour to Hongya Cave, which boasts a history of over 2300 years. The main style and feature of Hongya Cave is the traditional stilted building. It is the most complete and beautifully decorated stilted building group in Chongqing, built against the mountain and beside the river. You can also see the Monument to the Liberation of People, built in 1945 to commemorate the victory over Japan in WWII. At the end of the tour, the guide will return you to your hotel in Chongqing.
Dazu Rock Carvings and Ancient Porcelain Village
The Dazu Rock Carvings - Spend half a day visiting the Baodingshan carvings. The pinnacle of Tantric Buddhism expression is found in the U-shaped gorge at Baodingshan, which contains two groups of carvings dating from the late 12th to mid-13th century near the Holy Longevity Monastery. The large group to the west stretches about 500 meters and includes 31 groups of carved figures depicting themes from Tantric Buddhism as well as scenes of herdsmen and everyday life.
Ciqikou (Porcelain Port) - After visiting the Dazu Rock Carvings, enjoy authentic food at a local restaurant. Then return to Chongqing and visit one of its older parts, Ciqikou Old Town (Porcelain Village), dating back to the late Ming Dynasty (1368-1644). The saying “One flagstone road, and one thousand years’ Ciqikou” holds true when visiting Ciqikou Old Town, where local residents maintain their traditional way of life. Many of the two and three-story buildings are made of bamboo and timber. Blue bricks and pillars highlight the snow-white walls, contrasting with vermilion doors and lattice windows. Black tablets and lanterns adorn the gates, completing the authentic and traditional appearance of the properties. After visiting Ciqikou, you will be taken to your Chongqing downtown hotel, where your tour concludes.
