- Laojundong Taoist Temple - Situated on Laojun Mountain near Huangjueya in Nanshan Subdistrict, Nanan District, Chongqing, this temple spans 223 acres. Originally constructed during the Tang Dynasty, it was rebuilt and expanded in 1480 during the Ming Dynasty’s Chenghua period, earning the name Taiji Palace, also known as Laojun Cave. The temple, built into the mountainside, features impressive architecture. Once called Tushan Ancient Cave, it is a significant Taoist temple in China, known as “The First Taoist Temple in Eastern Sichuan.” Visitors are captivated by the breathtaking views and the intriguing Taoist culture, which reflects Chinese perspectives on health, mortality, and peaceful lifestyles.
- Chongqing University of Posts and Telecommunications - Guests will stroll to the main street to enjoy a quick lunch of local noodles. This is a wonderful opportunity to experience local dining culture and test your spice tolerance with the guidance of a local expert! Lunch costs are included in the tour fee. Xiaomian, a local spicy noodle dish, is a popular street food highly recommended by locals. Please inform your guide of any dietary requirements before trying it.
- Laolongdong Scenic Area - Located in Banan District, Chongqing, the Old Dragon Cave is a natural limestone cave and a key feature of the Karst landscape. The cave extends for several kilometers, with some areas still unexplored. Visitors can embark on a kayaking adventure covering at least 800 meters. Inside, the stalactites and stone formations, formed over millions of years, are stunning and lifelike. The Yinhe Spring flows through the cave, offering scenic views and exciting exploration. It is a perfect spot for leisure and sightseeing. The entry fee is approximately 80 CNY per person, varying with group size. Please activate WeChat or Alipay for payment; cash is also accepted.
- Longmenhao Old Street - Situated in the heart of Chongqing’s main urban district along Nanbin Road, Longmenhao Old Street covers over 300 acres (about 180,000 square meters) and boasts a history of over a thousand years, with numerous historical sites. The district features more than 200 buildings from various eras, including 18 notable historical heritage buildings. The street is also home to one of the “Twelve Sceneries of Ancient Bayu”—the “Longmenhao Moon,” celebrated by many scholars and poets. Due to its beautiful nightscape and prime location across the river from the Yuzhong Peninsula, Longmenhao Old Street was included in the second batch of proposed night-time cultural and tourism consumption zones for Chongqing in April 2022.
