The views from this tour... - The views from this tour are amazing. Albert our guide was very informative and knowledgeable of the are and the scenery. The driver was also helpful getting us picking up and dropping off at each leg if the trip. If your taking the cruise in the winter, make sure to bring the jacket. Very windy and cold. If you want amazing pics if the night lights that make Chongqing famous, you need to take this cruise. Thanks Albert X and driver.

Great River Boat ride with spetacular lighted buldings downtown - Once again China never fails to impress with the best. The boat tour and lights are nothing like anything else in my opinion. Yes LasVega has many lights, however if you want a fun, safe beautiful place to visit the 45 minute tour is great! Start at the top of the 7+ story complex and prepare to be among hundred of toursists mostly from Asia. The tour ranges from 100-200 RMB so shop around. The boat is clean and has restrooms, and drinks (Cash bar). There is a VIP area on the top of the boat for an extra 50 RMB, but for $7usd the fruit tray not my thing. However you get to board early. Plan to take lots of video as the photos don't show the same. The food is good in the complex but not much to eat on the boat but fruit. If your in the area of the boat ride on the river be sure to walk the 15 minute route to "central" plaza with many high end stores. There is also a nice hotel within the complex with rooms that oversee the river. Just a heads up that night is the best and during the day smog is common.

Lights galore, and cold wind - I boarded the Yangtze River Cruise, one hour, near the Hongyadong, so it really was an amazing experience. I love the cold wind, the lights and you could see so many of the beautifully lit buildings, Chaotianmen (or Raffles city)... Definitely worth the experience. Just watch out for the crowd, coz there are many waiting for the lift, so finally many ended walking down the stairs. Do get the tickets early and board the ship so you have a good seat and good view

Get on board - really great - Booked by our personal guide - so did just the night cruise. Worth the price of ticket. Guide was worried we may have to wait in line for an hour as it is usually packed but we were lucky, only waited 10 minutes to board. Go for the VIP lounge if you can once on board - only extra RMB80pp (pay on board) and you have a less crowed space and some refreshment. Really great night view with all the lights on the buildings and the bridges. Get out the bug spray beforehand - not a major but got bitten on the legs quite badly - my bad luck. Hubby was fine.

Chongqing Charms and Alarms and Tour agent to avoid! - Chongqing is challenging. It's a mountain city. Lots of up-down steps everyday. The typical tourist menu is Wulong, Dazu Rock carvings, Ciqikou ancient town, city tour, Liziba, JieFangBei shopping street and the # Gorges river cruise. I asked that the limestone cave in Wulong and Liziba train running through flats be scratched but our young facilitator wasn't forthcoming. Refused to tweak programme (and didn't think on her feet). The cave is a walking hazard for those with walking difficulty. Very dark and wet inside. Someone could also have fallen on the Liziba train ride. We could have spent more time enjoying the old street we were at. Two stops, no doubt, but we had to stand hanging on to straps. No choice or warning was given for this ride or the cave which could have been hazardous for some. Perhaps no surprise that there were few visitors to the cave. Unusual for China. However, for those with walking stamina and strength the Wulong Tiansheng Three Bridges is worthwhile. Some wasted time in walking to new shop fronts in a location on the menu with most shops closed and yet another view of the city over a very dry river. The cable car ride across the river was another eyewash. Facilitator wasn't thinking when it rained and she still took us to walk a private garden once part of ChiangKaishek's home. Just 1 of us got out of our minibus. We asked to visit local markets numerous times and facilitator didn't seem to know any. We did finally manage one near our last hotel. Try get tickets to the musical Chong1949. The performance and purpose-built theatre rivals those in London's West End. Dazu caves are recommended. Xcellent guide there and commentary. Shangcheng Lane was good too but too rushed. In general, a good trip. Better if See Tours had been flexible and tailored it to group's requests. We were a group of 6 and tailoring would have been easy. We ended with a 3-day 3 Gorges cruise. Old Chinese ship -- Yangtze Gold line. Google for other (newer) Chinese ships. Bulk of fellow travellers were rather rough locals. We requested a dining upgrade to a different deck and our own reserved table -- a great move. Trip was facilitated by Kathy of SeeTours of Chongqing through a Ms Hua of Kunming Comfort Travel. Facilitator didn't add much value. Practically no info inputs en route to places and didn't volunteer to stock wetwipes and tissues for toilet stops. Something we could have paid for but she just said " not provided". Ms Hua was very flippant when told our requested omissions had been ignored. She said, "We hope next time can offer you more good service"(??) In fact, she did not respond when we were disembarking from ship and needed to clarify the handling of our bags to airport. I'd rate both companies a 3. Imposed their set itinerary despite repeat requests at pre departure. Lesson: go directly to a company based in Chongqing and not a link-up from an agent based in a different city.
