Tokyo Skytree - Experience a bird’s-eye view of Tokyo from Japan’s tallest structure. Rising 634 meters above the city’s skyline, Tokyo Skytree offers breathtaking, panoramic views of Tokyo. On a clear day, while infinity may not be visible, it is one of the rare places where Mt. Fuji can be seen from Tokyo.
Don’t Miss:
- Stunning views of the entire Kanto region
- Standing on the glass floor section to feel as if you are floating in mid-air

NOTE: To visit, please book tickets through the official Tokyo Skytree website.
- Imperial Palace - Visitors can admire the Nijubashi, two bridges that serve as an entrance to the inner palace grounds. The stone bridge in front is known as Meganebashi (Eyeglass Bridge) due to its appearance. The bridge behind was once a wooden bridge with two levels, hence the name Nijubashi (Double Bridge).
The inner grounds of the palace are generally closed to the public. However, on January 2 (New Year’s Greeting) and February 23 (Emperor’s Birthday), visitors can enter the inner palace grounds and see the Imperial Family, who make several public appearances on a balcony.
- Rainbow Bridge - Connecting Odaiba and Shibaura Pier, the vibrant Rainbow Bridge and its light displays have become a significant tourist attraction. Sometimes a bridge is more than just a means of transportation. The Rainbow Bridge, linking the mainland to the artificial island of Odaiba, is a tourist attraction in its own right. Constructed in the 1990s, the bridge has helped this part of Tokyo Bay thrive and is surrounded by top tourist spots.
Don’t Miss:
-
Panoramic views of the Odaiba waterfront
-
Enjoying a picnic on the bridge’s benches or at nearby Seaside Park
-
Shibuya Crossing - The busiest intersection in Tokyo. Shibuya Crossing is one of Tokyo’s most iconic sights, featured in numerous films, magazines, and blogs. During peak times, an estimated 1,000 to 2,500 people cross this intersection every two minutes, enough to fill a football stadium quickly.
The phenomenon has earned it the nickname “scramble,” as pedestrians cross from all directions. Shibuya Crossing balances between chaotic frenzy and perfect synchronization. Exploring Tokyo will inevitably lead you here to make your crossing and enjoy Shibuya’s abundant shopping, dining, and entertainment options.
Don’t Miss:
-

-

Tokyo Tower - Standing 333 meters tall in central Tokyo, Tokyo Tower (東京タワー) is the world’s tallest, self-supported steel tower and 3 meters taller than its inspiration, the Eiffel Tower. A symbol of Japan’s post-war resurgence as a major economic power, Tokyo Tower was the country’s tallest structure from its completion in 1958 until 2012 when it was surpassed by the Tokyo Skytree. Besides being a popular tourist destination, Tokyo Tower functions as a broadcast antenna.
The tower’s main deck at 150 meters can be accessed via elevator or a 600-step staircase (both require a fee). Thanks to its central location, the observatory provides an intriguing view of the city despite being at a relatively moderate height. There are also “lookdown windows” in the floor to stand on, a souvenir shop, and a cafe.
- Senso-ji Temple - Sensoji (浅草寺, Sensōji, also known as Asakusa Kannon Temple) is a Buddhist temple located in Asakusa. It is one of Tokyo’s most vibrant and popular temples.
Legend has it that in the year 628, two brothers retrieved a statue of Kannon, the goddess of mercy, from the Sumida River, and even though they returned the statue to the river, it always came back to them. As a result, Sensoji was constructed nearby for the goddess Kannon. The temple was completed in 645, making it Tokyo’s oldest temple.
-
Meiji Jingu Shrine - The shrine was completed and dedicated to Emperor Meiji and Empress Shoken in 1920, eight years after the emperor’s passing and six years after the empress’s passing. The shrine was destroyed during the war but was rebuilt shortly thereafter.
-
Takeshita Street - Calbee chips, candy floss, and crepes await visitors at Harajuku’s Takeshita-Dori Street, a pedestrian shopping haven that offers a sensory overload with food and fashion options popular among Tokyo’s trend-setting youth.
