Friendly service, easy process, comfortable and well maintained kayaks

It was a treat to watch a bald eagle float on the air above the shale cliffs surrounding the Rocky River. I got some great close-up photos of red-tailed hawks, great blue heron, turkey vultures and migrating duck species. The staff of 41 North put me at ease, helped me prepare, and let me know the rules of the river before I set out on the water. Easy navigation of the website allowed me to reserve my first trip with them and get the waiver signed ahead of time. The video on the website explained what I need to have to be prepared. Because I am a returning "beginner", the site suggested a sit-atop kayak that is self bailing. It was a good choice for my rusty paddling skills and a bit slower mobility as I age. The 41 North team was friendly, answered any questions, and made the experience one I will repeat. // On good weather days, a paddler can choose to play it safe and stay in the river or get a little more adventurous by traveling to Lake Erie. On this trip, I chose the former. I enjoyed my morning coffee in the most serene setting: fishermen wading nearby, power boaters launching and taking off, wildflowers along the shore. Well worth the reasonable rental fee.
