Don't miss this - We visited the Clonakilty Distillery on Saturday, 17 May 2025, and were welcomed by James. We had 2 flights of their whiskey selection and extra flight of some of the premium whiskeys. We've really enjoyed it and James was very friendly and shared a lot of interesting information with us. We would recommend to visit this place when you're in Clonakilty.

Modern distillery - Modern distillery with shop. Large selection of different whiskeys, but also gin and vodka is produced there. The tour is well structured and with good advice and explanation a whiskey selection (3-5 varieties) was tasted afterwards.

Excellent guided visit and tasting experience - Clonakilty Distillery is located in the homonymous town, in Southwestern Ireland. It is a very modern distillery. We did a guided tour in the facilities and they are very new and wonderful. Also, the guide explained to us the manufacturing process of whiskey, which was very interesting. Also, we could learn a lot and at the end, we could do an excellent tasting experience.

Highly recommended! - Great visit with knowledgeable staff with heart for the distillery. A great tour that gave insight into the process of making whisky. The samples were varied and gave an impression of how the storage is used to give the different whiskies character. I have been on a tour in one that the big distilleries in Dublin, this was so much better! In a special class!

Nice tour, beautiful whiskey and James was a fun and interesting tour guide - Smaller than I thought but that didn’t take away from what was a very interesting tour with a super engaging and knowledgeable guide, James. The highlight was the whiskey tasting and the ad hoc stories that James was telling us.

Good tour, prefer the product though! - Good tour, not an awful not to the distillery in fairness but interesting non the less. The product is far more interesting than the tour!

Modern distillery tour in Clonakilty - A modern whiskey distillery in Clonakilty. It is situated in the town with some beautiful views out the window of the town as a backdrop. The tour started out in a museum-like display of the area and the history of the family who owns the distillery. The tour featured two videos, a walk-through to see the distilleries, and a tasting. They store the whiskey for three years in barrels on the family farm on a cliff above the Atlantic ocean. They are proud of the family farm and the pure water that they use in the process. Like many of these tours, it was led by a member of the tour team who has learned the process, but never actually distilled whiskey. I’ve only been on one tour so far where the tour guide actually was distilling whiskey. Having said that it was a thorough and pleasurable tour.
