Although it was destroyed by fire, it was reconstructed in the 16th century and now houses a history museum, including a torture chamber.
- Biertan Fortified Church - Transylvania can be summed up in one word: diverse. This historic region was home to many isolated villages, showcasing the harmonious coexistence of Romanian, Hungarian, Gypsy, and German communities for centuries. Gypsies settled in Romania over 800 years ago, after being displaced by the Mongol invasion. Today, visit an isolated Gypsy community, where they sustain themselves through crafts like coppersmithing. Access is granted only when accompanied by a trusted individual.
- Cluj-Napoca City Hall - On the return journey to Cluj, a different route will be taken to appreciate the breathtaking Transylvanian landscape. Arrival back in Cluj is expected by night, with travel time subject to traffic conditions.

Not to be missed - Wonderful experience from start to finish. As this is a small group tour - we were lucky enough that it was just the two of us and our wonderful guide; George. It was mesmeric to take in the beauty of Transylvania & visit Biertan, Medias & Sighisoara. The highlight for me was visiting Victor. Clopotar & his family in Brateiu. We were welcomed with coffee and homemade cake. Victor told us about his family trade as a coppersmith & the history of the Roma Gypsy in Romania. Make sure to take some money for some of his beautiful copper pieces. (Thankfully he takes revolut!).A great day. Thank you George & the Clopotar family.

A day full of stories, color, and charm - This trip to Sighișoara, Biertan and local community was hands down one of the most memorable travel days I’ve had in Romania. Everything felt authentic — no rush, no tourist traps, just real places and real people.

Top things to do while in Cluj - Our day trip from Cluj was exceptional! We began in Medias, a beautiful Saxon town with a rich history. The visit to the nearby Gypsy village was particularly memorable, where we observed a fascinating metalworking workshop. The highlight was the Biertan Church, an impressive architectural and historical site. Ending the day at Sighisoara Fortress was perfect, offering a captivating glimpse into the past. The guide was insightful, and the comfortable transport made the day smooth and enjoyable.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ - Our tour took us to a hidden gem in Transylvania—a traditional gypsy village that offered a fascinating glimpse into local culture and heritage.
Next, we explored the historic Sighisoara Fortress. The fortress is a must-see, rich in history and perfectly preserved.

Nice day in Transylvania - Each town had its own charm and history that we could better understand thanks to Robert. Especially Sighisoara. Visiting the Roma community was particularly impressive.

The day trip was very... - The day trip was very well organized and we were able to see and do a lot in just one day. Book Robert as your guide if you want a fun and informative adventure. His passion for the area and friendly demeanor made for a truly enjoyable experience.

Disappointing tour - I’m sorry but this tour was kind of a mess, friendly but unknowledgeable tour guide who did not know the answer to most of the general questions we asked. We did not get to visit the fortified church in Biertan as we found out that it was closed after we reached the site, and this was something which i felt could have been checked by the tour guide or organiser earlier. We thought it was a guided tour but we were left to do free & easy sightseeing at Sighisoara. The Gypsy family visit was underwhelming too as it seems like they are new to hosting. Overall, it didn’t feel like it was worth the price we paid. Only plus point was the comfortable van we sat in.
